Title: 81mm Airsoft Mortar
Post by: stoneaglewolf on June 07, 2007, 09:17:11 AM
Here is a little project Skylar and I have been working on. It uses the NERF Vortex as ammo and has an effective range of 100+ yards.

Looks good, dude.  I dig the elevation and azimuth adjustments.

Couple questions.  Any plans for a base for the tube?  Also, how it is operated?

Nice Mark, I like how you added the center stabilizer seeing that adjusting for earth rotation was abit over kill ;)
I dont see the QD mount yet. I'm painting my field launcher tonite.

Mark is that PVC or metal tube?

I know that the heat here in sumemr can floppy PVC tubing real fast....

Pretty cool .... hope to see it at Irene this year!

payback for the Bikes...   ;)

I'm working on the base right now, as well as a line of sight fire sighting system. The tube is 1/4" plastic so hopefully it will stand up to the heat. But if it does get hot please don't piss on the tube :)

Irene... I could just see getting that through the TSA.

Just lock it in a gun case and they'll never even notice.

For sighting you could mount a simple red dot sight of some kind at the top of the barrel so that it aims out over the barrel itself.  That would give you a rough estimate of where your aimpoint would be deflection wise. Good looking job though.  Looks very realistic.

Hopes, dreams, some starlight...

Actually I'd like to see how the system works.  I remember something back last year in prescott that made me go deaf for a few min.... I want it.

Gorgous, I'd also be interested in seeing how the propulsion system works and seeing a rough price tag on a commision job.
