Reviews / Review: Marui XL BB loader, King Arms Hicap BB Loader
« on: May 16, 2006, 03:04:47 PM »
First off, I would like to thank Den Trinity for their speedy shipment of these items to me. Lets get down to business.

Marui XL BB Loader:
View nice piece, in my opinion. The loading of the bbs into the magazine is smooth, right down until the magazine is full. The button you press down to force BBs in the magazine is nice and stout, and I don't think it will break very easily. When you push the loading button down, you can lock it into place with a switch(like a bb release mechanism on magazines), instead of a button. Loading of the bbs into the loader is kind of a pain in the ass. The loading "port" is kinda small, unfortunately. The port is right next to the button, and it slides open like a little hatch. Flip it over and you will see the loading nozzle. Pretty basic. Next to it a pistol adapter is on a hinge. It flips over and covers the nozzle for loading of a pistol.  When not in use, it tucks into the magazine. I think its kinda cool, instead of having an adapter that you can lose. It also included another adapter, but I'm not quite sure what it was intended for, I'm sure I'll figure it out in the future. The loader itself does hold roughly the suggested amount of 450 BBs.

Pros:
Holds 450 BBs
Smooth loading
Pistol adapter tucks into magazine
The size of a marui M16 magazine

Cons:
Small BB loading port

King Arms Hi Capacity Loader:
This is an interesting piece. It has a very ergonomic shape. Loading BBs into it is a snap, much larger than the Marui XL, or even the SRC/Marui  standard loaders. The button sticks up nice and high, which could lead to an accidental breakage, but it looks pretty sturdy, so I'm not worrying about it. Loading BBs into the magazine is a rather smooth operation, didn't have to shake it like you do sometimes with the normal BB loaders. This piece is much larger than the normal loaders, and holds 200 bbs, roughly. It is actually bigger and longer than my real Glock 17 magazines It does have an adpater, but unfortunately, there is no way to secure it to the loader, so you might lose it. It also came in cheaper than Marui and SRC loaders, which is a plus, considering it holds more ammo.

Pros:
Cheaper than most loaders
Holds around 200 bbs
Ergonomic design

Cons
Big and long
No way to secure adapter to loader

If you have any questions reguarding any of these items feel free to PM me, or post them here.

General Off-Topic Discussion / Stencils

Anyone know where to get stencils of various fonts? Similar to your typical "military" style print. Is that something Home Depot, Lowes, possibly Walmart would carry?

Accessories & Gear /

Well, I personally don't mind if you wear makred BDUs if they belong to someone(I use my fathers DCUs at games, and they have airforce ranks and markings on them). I wear my issued(I have about 6 pairs) BDUs that only have my name, and US Army on them, but you'll never catch me with ranks or earned patches(air assault, airborne, ranger, ect). But, I am in the military, so I have sort of earned them. You, are not, so if you were to do the same thing, it would be frowned upon. I suppose...

AEG's / Classic Army outer barrel removal
« on: January 09, 2006, 07:08:50 PM »
It is a very long story as to how I aquired this gun, but recently, I decided to ressurect it. Now, here is my newb question. I can't get the freakin' outer barrel off. I am unable to pull the delta ring off becuase of the locking ring that keeps the grips from rotating. How do I remove that? I'm not looking to destroy it completely, so I do not want to start trying to "manipulate" it with pliers and whatnot. Please, no BS, I just need to get this sucker off so i can put on my own front end. Thanks.

General Off-Topic Discussion / My new knife
« on: December 27, 2005, 09:40:32 AM »
I was at the base exchange/post exchange today at Luke AFB, and while traveling down an isle, I found a really cool knife. Needless to say, I purchased it. It is a really nice knife. Heres some pics:

This is a Gerber OIF knife. It has a rubberized grip, and a plastic scabbard.

Here is the blade, with laser engraved OIF stuff. It has an Iraqi flag looking thing, with a soldier standing next to it, with an American flag pattern to him. Its really cool.

Here the the safety system, its a little catch that is nice and easy to get to when you need it.

If any of you like the knife, and can't get one, send me some money, and I will pick one up for you. I haven't seen this knife anywhere else, but I doubt this is a BX/PX exclusive, so keep an eye out. It was about $40 bucks, money well spent(in my opinion). They also had a multi-tool Gerber with the grips of the knife(the part where all the tools fold out of) tanned with OIF engravings and whatnot in them(that was $50).

General Off-Topic Discussion / Going Downrange
« on: August 08, 2005, 02:05:40 PM »
On Wednesday, I'm going "downrange" to Fort Benning Georgia. I will be gone for a good 2 1/2 months or so. Wish me luck. Its been fun playing with you guys(and gals), but with my luck, this board will be full of kids when I come back, and all the adults will have been run off. I'm sure I'm going to miss plenty of good gaming. See you guys in a few months.

General Off-Topic Discussion / Shootout
« on: July 19, 2005, 10:36:37 PM »
Did anyone watch this show? It is on History Channel. It previewed today, at 2100, and the episode was called "D-day: Fallujah". It was essentially about the fight for fallujah, covering some of the action between US Marines and Insurgents. Its a really good show. For those of you who saw it, what did ya think?
