Is it illegal to remove/cover your orange tip on your airsoft gun?

Federal law supersedes state law with this one. It is against the law to remove or alter the Orange tip. However no cop as far as I know has ever written a ticket or arrested someone for not having it on. Now as mla pro said don't be stupid about handling it and nothing will happen. Pretty much don't show it unless your at the area you are going to play and don't use it for any type of intimidation and you will be perfectly fine. Remember the law doesn't specify how it is covered in Orange as long as it is Orange what I recommend is some Orange electrical tape around the tip when not at the field and when game time comes take it off.

Federal law should only come into play when you are transporting the gun across state lines iirc.
