My Favorite Unit is always the last one I was in. lol. The only place I ever hated was waaaaaaaay back in 98' with 3rd FSSG, I was sooooo happy to go to 3rd Mar Div, and to the 31st MEU. Well there was a time back in OIF III when the 101st was part of our RIP and they were "8 up" wow the "hundred and worst" as we called them lacked disipline and leadership, terrible. Best place I ever really got to be an NCO was with the RSP in RRCMD. Good times, ask Morley.

Oh wait, this isn't that kinda conversation....... Its cute how many fanboys there are.

Marine Corps all the way. First to go Last to know. The rest is just the clean up crew.

I absolutely agree.  I can practically see the Marines doing all the work, then the Army coming in and saying, "yeah, take that!"

For a reason.

Air Force Pararescue plucked my dad out of Vietnam twice (see link in signature).
One of my best friends is 407th AEG EOD out of Luke.

Fanboy?  Yup.  Not ashamed of it.

Thats not being a fanboy. Thats being greatfull. I thank your Dad for his Service.

Best part of being an American Serviceman is knowing that no matter what, somebody will come for you. Even if it takes "everyone"

I just find this list humerous. After 14 years my view of the military is faaaaaaar different! This list is more like "my dad can kick your dads ass"

The military is mission specific. There is very few "chosen warriors" and we all work together to achieve the same outcome. Each branch has its pro's and con's.

Funny thing about military training schools, most are "all service schools" EOD for example is taught by Saliors (for the most part) at an Air Force (part of it) base. But all the braches go there.

Just think, for some reason Navy EOD is the only one budgeted to work in SOCOM, don't know why its that way but it is. Just like PJ's are the only ones that work thier specific mission in SOCOM.

Alot of the stuff is based on each service wanting to have a peice of the SOCOM pie. 5 Years ago MARSOC didn't exsist, it was Marine Force Recon, but the Marine Corps needed to justify its exsitence and Navy Seal mirrior mission, So they finally rolled up with the rest of SOCOM, created MARSOC and the Air Force got to be part of the Osprey program, which then helped expand the overall program, and the Marine Corps got to share the budget and finally get the aircraft.

SOCOM at this time has the biggest "black" budget in the serivces and each branch wants a piece.

Ugh I'm getting way off topic.

I think you summed it up right there.  [smilie=armata_pdt_42.gif]

I agree with Malicious, nearly every member of my family has served in different branches of the military, and I think to say that one branch or division is superior to another is belittling and insulting to the servicemen. Now I understand the whole concept of friendly banter, but it's come to a point outside the service ( I'm not sure about inside it) that it doesn't really seem to matter who serves at all, but what branch. All our guns are really pointed the same way gentlemen, lets not forget that. That being said (excuse the personal soap-box) I commend and respect anyone that serves and I hope you all do the same, regardless of which branch they served.

I know I posted a list on here at the beginning of the topic but I want to echo everything that has been said. Especially the last post. All branches fight for the same team and the same objective: to make sure every single person makes it back home.

My eternal thanks to everyone who serves/has served.

RIP Capt Jenkins KIA 25 August 2009 Afghanistan

Sorry for the sappy post. The military is a subject that is very important to me
