Hello All
« on: January 28, 2006, 03:11:15 PM »
Hi, First off I am 18 years old and am at my first year of college at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University majoring in Aeronautical Science.  I have my Private Pilots License and am currently working on my Multi-Engine and my Instrument Rating.  I love Arizona (especially the weather) as I am from Massachusetts.  I am also in Air Force ROTC and am shooting for a pilot slot.
I came to the sport about a month ago when a few of my suit mates came back from Wal-Mart with a couple spring pistols and an AEG.  That was pretty cool when we had our dorm fights late at night.  Shortly after I decided to buy my own.  I made my first mistake by not doing research on guns and went straight to eBay and dropped about $150 on cheap no name guns that game in the package deal.  They were fun for a little bit but poorly made.  So I have since sold those for profit and done research.  I am on a budget and without a job until summer so I found myself an Air soft Elite MP5 A4 for 214 dollars.  I hope that that gun is legal in your rules as it states that no customization is allowed.  It has not arrived yet so I am rather eager to test it out.  I have organized a couple night games with other students on campus that play and have decided that this is something I want to pursue as a hobby.  I am still in the process of starting up an air soft club on campus and cant wait until I can get down to experience a real match.

Plenty of customization is allowed. The CoCs are pretty out of date. AE MP5s are OK by all rules.
We have games in Prescott during the summertime (which, unfortunately, is probably when you go back east, home).

Welcome.

Are most of the events in/around the Phoenix area this time of year.  I am asking just because I have only been to the airport and wouldn't have a clue where to go for an event.  Im sure mapquest will suffice though.

I was also wondering what would be a good event to go to in mid to late FEB or early March.

Yes, while it is cool down here we play near to home.  But when it heats up like Vince said, we head out to Prescott.  Also some airsoft guys here used to go to Embry-Riddle but they are now in Colorado I believe.

A good event to go to this Feb would be the AA game down here.  http://www.airsoftarizona.com/forumbb/v ... php?t=8654 Cost is $20 since we are using a field for this one, usually we use other AO's that are free.

Yeah, we've played with a few of those dudes from Embry...they're solid.

Welcome.
