Introduction
« on: March 08, 2006, 02:36:32 PM »
Hi,

Been in Arizona all my life. Was into paintball for about 1 year until it got in the way of school and bills. Have a little more time now and looking for something with more excercise/tactics involved. Going to read as much as possible here from the Veterans and hopefully attend an event.

Nice to find a community with small bullshit, big fun.

This might be the wrong place to post this but I bought a SIG 552 SEALS by Tokyo Marui (TM) for around 350$ USD. The manual is in mostly Japanese. I probably should have researched more before buying my AEG but Ive read TM is a good mfr. and the gentleman at The Command Post here in AZ stated it wasnt a bad newbie gun and that pistol airsofts are normally used for backups. They didn't have cases to hold the weapon and I am worried about transporting it in my vehicle as some might think it mirrors a real weapon even with the orange barrel.

Was this airsoft a good choice for a starter? Any tips on the manual since it's mostly japanese? Again if I missed a thread on this or if this post is in the wrong spot my apologies.

The manufacturer is a good one. Very reliable in its stock condition. Can be upgraded with new parts if wanted. If you want more depth about TMs or other Manufacturers search the forums, there are many threads about them.  As for "is this a good gun", it all depends on what you want. Want a gun with alot of metal parts on it? Then TM is not for you. Want a reliable stock gun, then you got a good gun for what you were looking for.

For the gun case, they sell gun bags that are cheap. $20, you can find them almost anywhere.  I place mine in a gun bag and transport them in my trunk.

Last question for my intro in regards to my AEG. It came with bullets (vendor said they were just to look cool), I am not sure how to unload them or if they are to stay in there? Sig552 SEAL was my AEG model. Thank you for replying -MAD- SARGE to my post, I prefer plastic and appreciate your assistance.

No they kind of stay there. If you get the high caps they dont have them. Bullets are just for looks. Wont be much of a problem if you stay out of the public. Not sure if you can take apart the mag or not in order to remove them. Then again there is always krylon paint. Best to use the low caps for realism. Not because of the bullets but for the milsim in the game. 300 round mags just not cool.
Good stock gun. It Will last you a long time if you dont mistreat it. V3 gearbox tuff as nails. The only problem with a sig is if it does ever break down; or need upgrading best to have a proffesional fix it like AEX. Just to complex for even the best Mechanic to fix.
