New stock for the Remington .338 Lapua.  Mcree Precision.  Next is a custom Muzzle Brake that a good friend of mine has designed and is making for me.  

Went to the range today.  Weapons in attendance were M1A SAGE EBR, Remington 700 .308, Savage 110 .308, and Remington 700P .338LM. Verified zero, chronoed, and worked on some fundamentals. Fired .338LM for first time :twisted:

Took a LR rifle course through GPS Defense this weekend.  The course was supposed to be a short "sniper experience" and since I am "time broke" I said what the heck.  I showed up at 0900 without any expectations and boy was I surprised.  The instructor rolled up a couple of minutes later and since I was the only one there I fully expected he was going to tell me that the course was going to be rescheduled.  He introduced himself and said that I was the only student, explained what the course was supposed to be and then said we were throwing that out the window.  He asked me if I was prepared to learn and move fast, I replied,"F&*K YES! We were able to cover every thing in their basic 5 day curriculum and most of the 2 day advanced curriculum in 2 days. Some of the things that were covered; Roles, equipment,rifle setup/cleaning, (he completely disassembled my rifle, evaluated it, corrected problems, properly fit it to me, and I had him cut and re-crown my barrel at their recommended 18". They have a lot of data and science behind this which I am not going to explain in this post), internal/external/terminal ballistics, target detection, ranging, wind, movers, angle shooting, etc. The basic and advanced curriculum, had I not been instructed 1-1, would have taken 7 days with 19 other students and would have cost me $1550.  It only cost me $440 and I got 1-1 instruction for 20+ hours. I was able to establish and verify DOPE for my rifle at ranges from 100-1250 yards. A friend asked me if I though it was worth the money. You f'n A Batman it was worth it. I got very lucky on this and I am deeply grateful to my Instructor for taking his time to go ahead with teaching me.  Plus I got to see my instructor shoot the 1250 offhand :shock: that was amazing and worth the price of admission!
