Accessories & Gear / Re: Showin off that sexy gear....
« on: October 18, 2013, 04:57:43 AM »
My girlfriend just got me one of the coolest pieces of survival and evasion tools out there on the market for my birthday. It's called the Operator band, and rightly so; it was designed by a level C SERE graduated ODA Operator working for RE Factor tactical. I'm providing a link to the actual product because it's the best $50 I think my girlfriend has ever spent on me. For those of you who actively go outdoors I highly recommend purchasing this piece of gear. There are videos on the page to give an in depth description of the actual band and what components are (P51 can opener, fishing line, 550 cord, #8 fishing hook, handcuff ket, snare wire, fire starter rod).

Handcuff key

P51 Can Opener (also useful for starting fires)

Nice.  First kit on this thread that I'm actually jealous of :P  Ebay, I'm guessing?  Because DO WANT.  What comms do you run?

Thanks. Yes actually, ebay seller amountainman is very reasonable, and for you grunt brethren currently down range he does ship to FPO/APO addresses (that's how I was able to get mine). I run Harris AN/PRC-152/117G/119F (mostly 152 since I'm billeted as a FTL) and occasionally a Motorola AN/PRC-153 (rarely). the Harris radios are terrible in my opinion, because if you get a FRO to load it wrong, COMM goes to sh*t, but then again COMM was never a strong suit in the infantry

Newest addition to my "high speed low drag" cowboying kit. MSA Sordin Dual COMM headset with HARRIS PRC PTT's. Purchased brand new for $310 came with the headset, batteries, three PTT's (two standard, 1 coiled), and two MSA 3/4 pads.

Nice setup. Hot as @#$% in the desert, but nice.

Thanks, yes it is but unfortunately my unit didnt go back down range to Afghanistan this year, instead we got sent into the Pacific for jungle warfare UTP's.

coiled wire is used when I'm a vehicle commander.

Obviously I had to remove the crown pad and "mimic my pads to resemble the FAST OCC  set up

has very low profile headband to fit inside most helmet

fits very snug in my medium LWH, optimal size is obviously large for a more comfortable fit.

This isn't cheating considering most of this gear was not CIF issued, but these pictures are over a year old and I've been meaning to post these. The first photo was taken in June of 2012 a month after my deployment to Afghanistan

Personal gear
Eagle SPC (with CIRAS shoulder pads and cut ISO mat)
Eagle AIII MOLLE
Blackhawk! assault belt
Pantac dump pouch
Trijicon RCO case (used it as PVS-14 case)
5.11 Tactical utility pouch (used as IFAK due to original being destroyed)
Oakley Ballistic M Frames
Oakley pilot gloves

CIF items
Mag pouches
LWH
SAPIs (front and back in SPC, side SAPIs not shown)

This was how my gear was set up on my last dwell op in Garmsir district back in April of 2012

Accessories & Gear / Tailor needed
« on: September 02, 2013, 03:28:32 AM »
Hello fellow Arizonians, My best friend (who is also an active duty "03") is need of a person who is efficient at modifying tactical gear. He currently has a MARZ tactical plate carrier and wants to have a quick release buckle modified onto the rear portion of the shoulder pads. If there is anyone out there that can do this for him, it would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Pig egg ruck run.

it's pretty much a 50 lbs. sand bag rolled and taped up and placed in the bottom of your ruck (i.e. Alice Pack, ILBE, USMC Pack, etc.) and you run a minimum of 3 miles. (and for those of you fellow service men, this is not considered hazing. It's good training, rah.)

Real Firearms / Help on Class III transfer
« on: March 28, 2013, 03:28:28 PM »
So im interested in purchasing a LMT CQB MRP Piston, and the seller is in Prescott, his weapon package includes the stock Colt SBR, LMT upper, and a Gem Tech supressor. Now This is the first Class III rifle ive actually been interested in buying but I dont really know anything else on how to properly purchase and register it beyond the $200 tax. So my questions pertain to the following.

1.Once purchased how difficult is it to transfer all information from the previous owner to me as the owner of the SBR?

2.Since there are three Class III items in the entire package am I to pay $1200 for the tax for all items or just $200?

3.After the purchase where do I go to register it?
