Already read this. The logic is lacking.

Welcome to the us government they always think of something simple yet complicated. To them it is perfectly logical

Makes no freakin sense. Dependable mags replaced with standard mags. Why does it matter anyways? Whats the difference?

True, but they need to worry about the lives of the soldiers, not as much about the money. Maybe use less bombs and such, maybe solid colors instead of ACU if that makes a difference

as much as i like the m4, the amount of doublefeeds in training alone did not help boost my confidence. I think i'll take the more operable weapon for sure, m4 was ok for it's time, but without saying, give the men fighting our wars a baseball bat against ak 47. That is how i bet our troops feel about that. I know i would.

we need to cut the deficit, bring in the squirt guns!!! hey what kind of monsters you think we are, it will be loaded with mace!! what more you want?!

next thing we will have to use biodegradable bullets haha!!

One theory that I saw in the comments of that article was that the maker of the standard metal mags was loosing money to magpul, so they in turn started making a fuss to the govt. Im sure stuff like this happens alot, heck even at basic training they forced us to send our laundry off to the company they had a contract with because they were loosing money due to troops doing thier own laundry.

When the shit hits the fan, dont be in front of the fan.

It's things like this that make me feel like being in the army can wait haha, don't want half the bull that comes out of all of that. atmosphere is already stressful at times, don't need logistics being crammed up my ass while mister taliban already has his ak 47 already covering that position.

sometimes i think that the laundry service is secretly working for the taliban lol

I saw that they were confiscating 416's from AWG's awhile back, and sending warnings to other units to stop using the 416, even Delta had to stop using them.. Just because the Military has a contract with Colt for the shitton of M4's they produce. and didn't want "Political Backlash".

Found it: http://www.defensereview.com/hk416-carbinesbr-confiscation-program-unleashed-on-us-army-awg/ ; happened awhile ago, But I don't see any logic in banning a weapon that uses alot of what the M4/M16 platform uses.

Soon enough, They'll be out there in shitty boots like Fox said.

The USMC has a contract with HK to supply the new saw, however if the lawsuit between Hogan guns and HK (due to HK violating copyrights) goes threw we could see a gun made here in az being fielded to the USMC. As stated before this is how the military and government thinks , simple yet complicated.

Are you talking about the HK M27 IAR? Just curious

I believe that's the designation.

I remember reading SOMEWHERE awhile back about the HK Integration for the USMC, I didn't wanna say anything cause I couldn't find any sources. I read a article awhile back about phasing out the M4/M16's and replacing them with a different more modern platform.
It will only replace the m249 saw for the USMC

Well we already had to go lead-free...

One of my friend said it best: "I wonder which senator has a hand in the pocket of the aluminum magazine industry?" But hey, let's all look at the upside: pretty soon the market is going to be flooded with dirt-cheap milsurp PMags.

there are some MC units like 2/4 and 3/1 already ruling out the use of PMAGS, but that was mainly because they couldn't fit in the M27 IAR magwell (Magpul's new M3 PMAG solved this issue), soon the Corps. is going to put a MCO (Marine Corps. Order) on the banning of PMAGs, but like most grunt units (especially 3rd Regiment) we're not going to listen.
