They recently signed a big contract with the DEA, so I'm sure that has a lot to do with it.  As for finding one in stock locally - I don't know.  I've never seen one "in stock".  I guess that's a good thing - meaning, they sell out quickly.

I know where there's one in Chandler, but it doesn't have the removable front site.

Well, Im finding alot of Bushmaster and Olympic here in Prescott.  They seem to be a little cheaper, how do they match up to RRA?

I'd say Bushmaster is a *little* better than RRA (but only because of name recognition and longevity of the company) and Oly Arms are not quite as good as RRA.

It was around $800, but it had some nice features with it.  If I get a chance I'll swing by the shop and see if it's still there.

Im thinking that I might just buy a bushmaster AR 15 with a flattop receiver.  Heres my question.  In the future how would I go about putting a gas block with a removable front site on the gun.  Is the gas block part of the barrel assembly?  Would I be looking at a small part and a hard installation, or would I be looking at a 200 dollar barrel assembly?

Another one for you guys.  When the ban expires, assuming it does, will I be able to put a collapsable stock on a gun that I bought now as Post Ban?  What other mods will be legal when the ban expires, or to a gun that is a preban?

Why not build one Joey.  You can order an upper receiver assembly built the way you want it directly from Bushmaster.  Then just buy a complete lower receiver from a local dealer, (they may have to order it, check with J&G for a price), and put it together.  It will cost you about the same as a new rifle and you get it the way you want right off the bat.

After the ban expires you can put what ever you want on it.  You're still required to follow the regular rules, barrel length not less than 16 inches, ect.. etc.

Ok, I was a little unclear about which part of the gun required the FFL.  Im going gun store hopping, so Ill find out how much a lower will cost.  Thanks for the help.

EDIT

I looked on bushmasters site, and cant find an A3 upper that has a gas block.  Ive contacted them and questioned its availability.  Since Im so hell bent on this happening soon, I again would like to know what must be purchased to add it to an upper.

Thanks again.

The lower receiver is the "gun" according to the BATF.

Bushmaster has more barrel configurations than what their catalog shows.  Just tell the guy on the phone what you're looking for and he can get it put together for you.

You'll need a COMPLETE lower receiver assembly like this one:

I found a new Bushmaster at a gun store up here.  16" A3, which is what I want.  Its 870 with a ten round and thirty round mag.  Is that a decent price?

If it's new, that price is decent - nothing to write home about, but not bad either.
