Well I've had these for 4 months now, and my initial observations about these gloves were premature.

I posted this on airsoftplayers.com -

<blockquote id="quote"><font size="1" face="Verdana" id="quote">quote:<hr height="1" noshade id="quote">...I've got a pair of BHI Hellstorms, and they're not holding up very well. Each one has several holes on the back of the hand area, [...] , mine are pilling badly too. The pre sewn finger cut points and the additional elastic gathering on the back are nice "extras," but when the rest of the glove sucks, its not a plus. I've had mine for probably 4 months, and now I wish I hadn't bought them.

These seemed really nice when I first got them, but now they're sub par. I've got a pair of USGI ones that are damn near bulletproof. The leather on them is a bit stiff now, but thats not bad for 2+ years of use.

To add insult to injury, those damn "Made in China" tags itch like hell. I cut them out and the stitching around them started to come apart.<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></blockquote id="quote"></font id="quote">

Final verdict, stay away from these BHI Hellstorm Aviators unless you want to replace them often.  The retail price on these is usually the same or more than that of most of the USGI nomex flight gloves, so just stick with those.  I got mine on sale, which is probably why I bought them in the first place.

Next I'm going to get myself a pair of Hatch Operator gloves.  A bit pricy, but I've read nothing bad about them.

The one problem I have with Hatch and Black Hawk is the "Made in China" tags.

Yeah, no kidding, John... I've owned 2 Blackhawk things, 1 is falling apart, the other I sold to someone else.  Most of the things that Blackhawk offers are copies of Eagle items, which are usually sturdier, made in the USA, and only run about $10 more.  For Blackhawk making its stuff in China and Vietnam, it's price isn't really reflective of that.

There are plenty of good gear makers in the US that are far superior to Blackhawk.  Eagle, Tactical Tailor, SOE, CQB Solutions, SOTech, Paraclete, just to name a few.

Today I picked up a pair of the Hatch Operator gloves and I'm very impressed with them so far.  I was very impressed with the Hellstorms at first too, so I'll see how these age before making any judgements...

Wells lamont MECHPRO gloves are the best I have used so far.  $10 at WalMart.  Made in USA and durable as all hell!  Provides tactile sensation, snug fit, light padding on knucle-side for those hand shots.  I have used Army Issue all laether, and nomex/leather flight gloves, and these are by far the best!  They are nice and cool also, and look great!  No pics, but you might be able to find them online.  Very good grip in the palms also.

I'm with Raith on this one. My BHI Hellstorm Aviators were a disapointment from the word sold. They are FAR to thin to be of long term use, they "pile" WAY to fast and if you try to shave them, they fall apart...  Oh well, there goes my $22.00...
Title: BHI Hellstorm Aviator Gloves

A lot of things are on sale right now at Botach Tactical, and I just picked up a pair of Blackhawk Hellstorm Flight Gloves.  I have nothing but praise for them so far.

At $17.95, ($25.76 w/shipping) they're even cheaper than most other flight gloves.  All the BHI gloves are on sale at Botach right now.  If you don't have gloves, you should probably get some.  Lots of pokey things around, and you don't lose your grip from sweat.

No, I'm not trying to sound like an advertisement, but I think they're nice gloves. [:)]

Before now, I didn't think too much of Botach, because I had always heard they were slow and out of stock a lot.  However, now I believe them to be an excellent retailer.  I ordered my gloves on Tuesday night and they arrived earlier today.
