When I checked Thursday they said they had 10 spots left, but when I checked Friday... This one filled up fast. Oh well, I'll put my name on the list to see if any spots open up later.

Its on May 23rd-25th. Cost is $120. And yes it is in California but it is not another Combat Enterprise event. I don't blame the SoCal airsofters for what happened at Crimson Dunes, I blame the organizers.

Its probably a good idea just to email them about this. Is it Game-On that is doing the work for you? If you go to their web site, www.GameOnGameCenters.com their information is located there.

I will lock this thread as this game has past. A new thread should be started to discuss post game talk.

This topic has gotten a bit of subject... but in a good way[:D]

quote:
Yea, i was bored so i was digging through the cupboards, and found some Bolle Goggles. There cool. I used em at school for raquet ball. They got a red lense, and you can see extremly well through them!

Make sure your goggles are rated ANSI Z87.1 for impact protection. There are cheapo goggles sold for a varity of other activities (skiing, motorcycling, lab work, etc.) that will provide absolutely no impact protection from a bb traveling 250+ FPS. Just remember they are your eyes.

I have a small group of BBs that I leave outside and water every day and they are still as round as the day I pulled them out of the bag...This was over two years ago. I added those "100% biodegradeable" BBs to them after Crimson Dunes and those are also still very much intact. I think the biodegradeability may have more degradeability when animals eats them however. I came to this realization after I found my dog eating some...

There will be more than just "4-6 hours" of playing. The reason (that I saw anyway) for all the down time with first training game that US Airsoft did is because it was the first one and only two people were really keeping things going. They were learning just as much as we were, just from opposite sides of spectrum - playing the game/running the game.

This event is going to be much different than one of the regular US Airsoft training days. The idea is that it will be a "big game" and this is what we have planned for. The schedule listed in the handbook is something that we wanted to give players a general idea of what to expect. I am letting the cat out of the bag by saying this but there will be plenty of surprises thrown into that scheduled mix of events. Here is a simplified version of the ASOC Manuals schedule: Saturday morning - Training, the rest of the time GAME TIME! This includes playing into the evening all the way till Sunday afternoon as well... with a few breaks to eat/sleep of course. Completing missions, overcoming obstacles, and working together as a team are the focus. Getting the "kill" is secondary, unless its the mission!. We definitely plan to make it an exciting time for all, after all the best advertising is by word of mouth!

Its easy to market a big game, charge $75-100 to play, then have 2-4 games that last about 2-3 hours each chasing around a truck moving at walking speed down a road. This is relatively easy when the only "staff" (more like volunteers really) you have just drives the truck around all day and the event organizer tries to do everything else (which is not much) himself including play in the game. Or maybe they just try to have 100+ players battle over a single stationary objective (capture the flag anyone?) for a couple of hours. I think $50 will be quite a bargain compared to what other big airsoft games have offered. We have more than just one person running this game. A group of 11 dedicated airsofters with a strong love of the sport will not let it be anything less than great.

The hope and dream is to have a "National Airsoft Course" (big game) model that others will want to imitate.

I saw a post on ASP about Op: Lions Claw 2. I heard the first one was pretty cool. Anybody hear anything else about this?

He is refering to lining the inside of the stock with Dynamatt sound dampening material. I have heard of people doing this with the aim of turning their AUGs into silent ninja killing weapons... But I have yet to see one in battle with this mod.

quote:
I've talked to the DPS and sherrif and word is that is open land. Paintballers are there all the time as well. Some people also drive around the backside and target shoot against the cliff side. In the multiple times we've played, we also have never had any law enforcement out there. Frankly, I would have liked to have the guys badge number. Something doesn't smell right about that.

Did you guys notify the proper law enforcement authorities that day? This is usually a good idea (requirement) when planning an airsoft game. These glorified toy guns we play with do look pretty real...

This is to let everyone know that we are not going to have and event, but rather attend the SASCO event. We will meet just off hwy 10 at Maricopa rd. at 8:00am sharp. And then caravan down.

I have contacted everyone who signed up for our event, and notified them of the change.

We have decided to cancel this event due to lack of registered players. Mostly my fault for being so late to post info on it...

Victor3 - We may have to park some place away from the AO and hike in a ways. Kinda like when we go out at Badger Springs and hike over that hill to the valley we play in.

Cyphen - Yes, bring $1.

Hector, Mark, Robert and I will be having a slumber party over my place Saturday night so they can make sure I wake up early enough Sunday morning (now if I can just get Kyle and John over...). Blanket party for Hector!

We plan to get out there early enough to be ready with time to spare. If anybody wants to they can call my cell, 602-628-4222 and we can get lost together.

Make sure you guys notifiy the proper authorities this time. Find out who has jurisdiction in the area and give them a call the day of your game. Get the name of the officer you spoke with and a phone number to reach him/her at should you have further questions. You may also need this information too if the police/sheriff decides to show up and check things out.

This post 9-11 era we live makes these few simple procedures very important now more than ever. It also helps project a better, more responsible view of airsofters.

Well Cyphen, unlike most people I am not as temporary with my toys. I am perfectly happy with my SR/M4 thingy. The standard cap mags are a better investment than the stock market right now too.

Harley may be on to something though... I don't own a cat, but my dog may start eating my dropped mags because I keep using him as a "tactical training aid".
