ok, let me explain.  The scratches are all from sanding glue off.  That exposed the metal (the rust paint came off), and it was exposed to the humidity in my house (we have a swamp cooler).  However, the flash on the camera amplified the scratches, and they look really bad in the pictures.

i believe i stated before that he was trying to add some stupid **** to it, like extra rails and ****.  He was clueless and he thought he was never going to sell it.  I taught him a thing or two about that though.  so there is your reason.

Lol.  After I scanned past the pictures I was about to comment when I saw that Firehead had already said just about exactly what I was going to say.

You beat that rifle all to hell, son.  Heheh

In actuallity, it's probably worth about 50% of the original value (assuming that the gun coast about 350). You could probably bring the value upby repainting the whole gun woodland camo or something. You can further increase the value by putting an expensive-looking scope on it (a big one). I all to often see "custom sniper" airsoft guns going for well over $500 on ebay.
The value is all in the buyer's mind. How much you will let the buyer pay is up to you.
The mags are worth little, people hate buying guns without a proper mag or batteries. Get a good mag for it and suddenly you can easily get $40 more for your gun.
That's just my take.

though you may not have read it, this isn't my gun.  And in order to beat the hell out of it, that would involve it being physically beat.  It never touched the ground, and nothing hard ever touched it, except a file to get glue off.  well, at least someone responded to the post this time...

CA 33e questions
« Reply #8 on: October 05, 2004, 06:11:49 PM »
My brother has "commisioned" me to attempt to sell his CA 33e.  Now, I don't know to much about what he should ask and everything, and I wanted some opinions from some of you more advanced airsofters.

It is a used CA 33e, about 5 months old.  It has a 170 spring in it, i believe, and shoots about 400 fps.  The cylinder and pistons heads have been replaced, according to the original owner who put the upgrades into it (yes, this is a "3rd" hand AEG).  It fires very well, and never misfires or jams.  Here are the rest of the specs of the particular gun.

There is some cosmetic flaws that are a result of my brothers then-foolish tampering of the outside (like the receiver and grip).  These flaws include some glue on the grip that hasn't been sanded off (its being stuborn), a bit on the top of the receiver (not to noticable...).  There is also some one the barrel, though it could be sanded off (it isn't noticable).  Also, there is some adhesive from some tape that was sitting on the gun for a while (a mag wasn't staying in place).  The receiver is a little scratched up on the top.  The glue is all a result of my brothers attempts at adding modifications that simply don't belong on the 33e. The magazines need a bit of a push to stay in place, but once they are in, they stay in.

There are two high cap mags, both of which are missing the tabs over the resoviour.  One has a bit of adhesive from some tape that was on it that was removed (the tape was there for kicks).  They perorm fine (except the fact that they need to be forced into place for them to stay in like they should).  There is also a 8.4 1700 mah battery and a charger.

I realize that this AEG isn't in the best condition, cosmetically, but I have no idea of what it should be sold for.  He wants to sell it with everything, so please don't say what the AEG by itself should be sold for.  If you are only going to criticize the actions taken by my brother, please keep your comments to yourself.  I am only intersted in help on what this should be sold for.  Thank you in advance.
