I would go with the MP5. There are way more parts and mods you can do on it. Hell, they JUST came out with a metal body for the Sig let alone anything else. Plus it's easy to get tac gear for MP5 mags etc.

i would stick with an MP5. There are a lot more options than a sig(but sigs do look cool). Phoenix is completely correct. A battery has never affected my opinions of a gun(becuase you can get several batteries if you have to, and change between games). Plus more people can work on MP5s than sigs.

Why not get the new Tokyo Marui MP5 J? It has a clapsable stock, and other features. The sig is a nice gun. Great for a newbie because its powerfull and accurate. Generaly shoots sometimes 300fps right out of the box or close to it. Very light, and easy to move around with but has ALOT of plasic. If you like spending money buy the new metal reciver. Its also difficult to upgrade, you would need airsoft Extreme or someone with skills and proper parts to modify it.

Because the whole reason of having the SD5 as the choice is because of it's amazing Ãœberness. :D  I just think that sniping would be fun... heh

So about how long would the "mini" battery last in the sig? under normal useage, that is.

If youre planning on sniping neither of those guns you've listed would work. If you've got the money and want to snipe get an SR-16. If you don't, then get an AUG. The barrel on that is the second longest on any AEG second only to the PSG-1.

SR-16s are incredible, You can make that gun fit any role, including a sniper rifle.

Unless you are using a bolt action rifle, or somehow mod a rifle to shoot only every 2-3 seconds, its NOT a sniper rifle people. A real sniper should not be able to squeeze off rounds as fast as he can pull the trigger, but how fast he can shoot, cycle the bolt, aim, and shoot again.

Sorry, couldn't help it.

snip-er

1. A skilled military shooter detailed to spot and pick off enemy soldiers from a concealed place.
2. One who shoots at other people from a concealed place.

I don't see anything about it needing to be bolt action or anything there. ;)

But, again, how long would the battery last in the sig?

DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH, YOU SEEM TO HAVE YOUR MIND PRETTY MUCH MADE UP ANYWAY, Airsoft snipers fall under a set of deffernt rules, If you would of read the rules you would of know this...

I think this topic is Ãœberness overness

I and most people who are the real Mil-Sim airsofters tend to label anything that isnt bolt action as non sniper. With the exception of semi auto rifles such as the M14(Civilian M1A) "real snipers" carry bolt action rifles. I know you will probably bring up the story in BHD about Gary Gordon and Randall Shughart having an M4 and M14, but thats not the typical sniper situation. Being vastly outnumbed like that requires carrying a different type of weapon.

Also, the AA rules specificly limit automatic weapons to 400fps with .2g BB's. Semi and bolt action are limited to 500fps w/ .2g BB's. Personally, I think that semi auto should be limited to 400 because most who use an AEG only fire in semi auto and with that in mind, your shooting as fast as you can pull the trigger.
