A word to the wise. It's ok to wear your BDU pants and boots in public, but not the full getup. Just wear a sweatshirt (or some other misc apparel) and switch to your BDU jacket when we get out there. That way we just look like crazy rednecks which AZ has an abundance of therefore avoiding sucspicion.

Well said Phoenix 797!  Rednecks we have plenty of...   :D

I think we can all agree that SRC is not on the top of most player's lists.  I did run with an M4 from SRC when I first started playin airsoft.  It was loaned to me by a good friend.  Little SOB was tough as nails!  Told me that he never had a problem with it. :?   Perhaps SRC has a issue with quaility control, or perhaps way too many "lemons" are popping up.  It's like some replicas are great!  And then one just sucks.  Hmmm.

As far as the RPK goes....I figure on upgrading/re-building the replica into a support weapon that can hold its own in the field.

Unless another company produces the RPK...I don't really have a choice other than SRC.

Unless there is a company out there that still produces a RPK conversion kit for a CA or TM Ak-47 :?:

Yeah you have a point there on the externals Vince...SRC could have done a better job on that.  Looking at the butt stock and pistol grip in the photos I have seen online...they look...well toyish!  As far as the flash-hider goes...they did get that correct.  The Russian Army as well as the Romainian Army did run that style flash-hider up until the early 90's.  Im sure some other countries still use it.  Most of the modern RPK's in service run the more modest AK-47 FH.

The online stores that do carry the RPK claim it will shoot 300 FPS with 0.20 bb's.  Then again some people state that it's a more realistic 270 - 290 FPS.  I don't know for I have never held one nor have fired one.

Do you have any idea's as to what would be a good start internal wise?  Does SRC make upgrades for these AEG's...or would you just build it over the counter so to speak?

What's goin on fella's!

greg123...shop well my friend.  Shop well.  And sinse we are on the subject of SRC, what do you fella's know about the RPK?  I would like to build a support weapon. To be honest...I do have a soft spot for Russian weapons.

On the other hand, If had the cash I would look into an M60 or M249...that would be fun.  But I just don't have the funds for that sort of system.  Perhaps in my dreams...but not here in reality. I could work with the RPK and not put such a dent in the wallet as it were.

Now I have heard that the RPK does make a nice project, Im just wondering what are my options in regards to internal upgrades?  And does anyone know if this replica will take that 3000rd. drum magazine that is on depot53 and other sites?

Just asking some questions and reading reviews to see what can be done with this killer lookin replica.  I'm not really sure if any other company offers an RPK AEG...

Hmmm.

I'm not sure if many of the member's of AA or any other teams have held operations in the area.  My team is going to the AO tomorrow morning to skermish and train a bit.  I'm brining along my digital camra to take some pictures of the AO and surrounding valley to give you all an idea of the terrian you will be operating in.

This area is nothing new by any means.  I'm sure that some if not most of you have been in the area before.  It's a nice area to hold any number of operations...

I'll post up the pictures tomorrow evening for all of you to look at.

What's going on fella's!

Myself along with a few members of Saguaro Team are planning an operation for January 2007.  This will be a 2 day/1 night operation located at AO-NILE (CaveCreek/Northern Operations Area).

We are looking at launching the operation on 13th. January 2007 and it will conclude on or about the afternoon of 14th. January 2007.

There will be night and pre-dawn operations.  Just a little weekend camp out etc...

Everyone is welcome!  If you are interested, have any questions, comments, and or ideas pretaining to this operation...go ahead on sound off!

If a good size number of people are interested I can post up a final update and we can go from there...

Well then it would seen that AA will need to place Airsoft Wepaon Restrictions on the games.  OR we will have to open up the minimum distance for a sniper shot from 50 to perhaps 75 or 100 for stock gas-powered and high-end gas powered rifles.

Regardless, we may have to re-evaluate the rules in regards to airsoft weapons because the industry is coming out with ever more powerful replicas.

Pistols would not matter, and as always people have the option to surrender.

I will have to figure out a way to bring down the FPS just a little for play during AA games.

I'll keep you fella's posted.
