General Airsoft Discussion / Milsim Airsoft Cadre
« on: May 28, 2016, 12:54:09 PM »
Launching a new initiative, check out Milsim Airsoft Cadre onFacebook!

Milsim Airsoft Cadre - intent:

I grew up playing airsoft, and still enjoy hitting big ops that are worth taking days off and traveling.  I don't get out to play locally, because weekends off are precious and are reserved for life's priorities or a few major events a year.  The last few ops I've been to, I've had the pleasure of jumping into squads with some great airsofters, but the cohesion and bond with a team was missing.

Enter MAC.

I'm launching MAC to create a group of law enforcement and military airsofters to run together at national level milsim events.  I want to pull together a group of players from around the country, so that every event has a MAC squad, group of hard chargers who know how to have fun.  I want to create a group that represents the best sportsmanship, attitude and mentorship airsoft has to offer.

As MAC gets traction, I also want to build in an additional aspect, exploiting weekend fun for training value.  AARs and helmet cam footage, to analyze tactics carryover from real life to airsoft, reinforcement of weapons manipulation and marksmanship principles and practicing situational problem solving.

I'd like to think I've got a kickass idea here, and I'm excited to get the ball rolling.

It's simply business.  They are open during hours that the most people are going to attend.  It would make no sense for them to be open when most people are working or at school.  They would lose money, not make more.  I would also speculate that no field owner is going to take business advice from a kid who can't even spell field, or ourselves.

*Snark added due to shitty attitude.

What teams are going CoST?

13
This topic reminds me of one of the first times I played out here since moving from Ohio.  I do not find Knightmare's play objectionable and play very similar myself.  (An aside, he's a pretty cool dude, cant say that for the rest of his team though ) That's the "high normal" in Ohio.  I attended an open play out here and lit a dude up in what seemed to me a perfectly legit situation.  He got pissed and we had a slightly heated discussion.  I explained where I was coming from and apologized and it blew over.  Lesson learned though, the norms are different in different areas.  I think that Nat Ops have started to standardize things, but not everyone gets a chance to make them (or learn from them )

Philosophydaddy, you will need to bring your own water, since you will want to be self reliant, but that said, there was ample water at the last one I attended.

There will be an HQ with a safe zone set up for re-whatever, including sleep, but it is entirely up to the individual squad as to how much time is spent there.  The ideal is to only go back when you REDCON out from casualties, grab ammo, water and snacks then head out again with what you will need for the next few hours.  We ended up holding down some buildings and rotating watch/patrols and dozing for a few hours, but other guys went back and racked out, while others went all night long.

As far as loadout goes, lighter is better.  Having learned a thing or two last time I will be packing ammo, water, electrolyte and/or energy chews, jerky/trail mix.  I'll have a gear bag back at HQ with fresh socks, gold bond, warmer clothes, a meal or two and spare gear etc.

No worries.  Any questions, post 'em up and I'll try and answer as best as I can.  I really want this to succeed, and a big, well prepared turnout will be huge.
