Well, i just thought i'd tell you guys about my night at work. If you didn't already know, i work at Domino's Pizza as driver... on 51st Ave. and McDowell. I've had two incidents while working... first was a hit and run accident, i was the victim... and the second was a carjacking. I just bought a new vehicle last Friday... yay me. And luckily tonight;s incident didn't involve my vehicle. This is what happened...
I had just returned from a delivery with an order that had a bad address. I was getting ready to take it back to the right address... but thought maybe i can grab some more orders, since i was already going to be on the road. So, i went back inside. When i walked in, there was a customer yelling and cursing at one of my co-workers because we didn't have a "special" he claimed he had before and was telling us to give him free food. I did not like the way he was yelling and cursing at my co-worker, so i stepped in... even though i really had no business with it. The manager was in the back trying to calm the guy down, but did not do good enough. I am the smallest guy at that store... and i'm sure some of you could believe that. Well anyways, i asked the guy, "what is goign on?" The guy then drew his attention toards me, and got right in my face. I stood my ground, though. He then started threatening me, and said that he was going to slap me. I have little man syndrome (as some call it), so i kinda have that "i don't give a fuck," attitude... when it comes to it. So i replied, "Go ahead, slap me then..."
Sure enough, the guy landed a full swing... as fast as a woman's slap. I had my glasses on, and after being hit like that... i took them off. I turned o set the glasses down, and just as i turned around, he's already throwing another swing, this time with a closed fist. Completely unexpected cheap-shot, i had little time to react, again... able to take in some by putting my hands up, but i wasn't fast enough. He landed a good blow to my head. The hit knocked he back, and suprised me... but by this time, i'm already amped from the previous attack. The guy douced up, ready to box... i was ready to go... i had no choice... it would have been purely self defense.
After seeing the guy slap me, the manager who had watched it start, had been making his way to the lobby. The manager did not see the sucker punch, but the co-worker, the first victim, had witnessed the whole thing... stunned, and scared. I stood in the spot i had been the whole time. I could feel the blood dripping down my face, and off my chin. Ready to swing, my manager flies through the door, and held me back. He told me, "no don't do it..." The manager is my age, but is very tall, and big.... and he held me back....
I can truthfully say that i have never backed down from any kind of fight... whether or not i stood a chance or not. I wanted to just knock the hell out of this guy, but i couldn't. Not only that, but it was like nobody had my back...
This guy was about 5'10"(?), looked to be around 30-40 years old. Had tattoos, and sunglasses. He wore a grey muscle shirt, blue jeans, and sported a mullet. He was also with his mom, who was about, i'd say 60... and she watched the whole thing happen, too. After being held back, the guy left the store, and i kept following him... but my manager was still holding me back. He fled in a white minivan, not sure of the make or model... but the liscence plate number is 121-CCP. The van is registered under the mom.
About 3 minutes after driving off... a police officer rolls up after recieving call from the first witness... my co-worker. A report was made, and pictures of my eye were taken... then i washed up, and went back to work.
What a night...
Pic of the hit. Blood washed off...
