I had a feeling it was the mag. I used the factory one that came with the gun untill the bottom flew out of it while carrying it. How embarassing. The one I use now is from cheaper that dirt for a colt 1911.

I will try a new ChipMcCormick through Dillon Persicsion.
If not I will try the ramp.
Thanks to everyone for the help.

I don't have any problems when cycling it by hand. this only happens when firing, and it doesn't happen every time. The gun is trying to tell me what's wrong, I just don't understand the language.

It jams in mid cycle, the round is still straight but jams the nose into the ramp but the butt is still in the right spot, almost like the recoil spring is too weak. I have also heard that the mags could cause this by not having enough tilt on the runner inside the mag so the nose of the round is not high enough to keep from binding when going up the ramp.

Could this also be caused by the type of ammo. I use Winchester or CCI FMJ's. I don't notice a pronounced diffrence between the two.

Real Firearms / Problem child 1911
« on: May 25, 2005, 08:49:16 PM »
I have a firestorm 45. which is a clone of the colt 1911a1. Now before I get too far in to this I don't want to hear any lip about buying a knock-off of a good U.S. gun that was copied and made in Spain, this gun was cheap and easily upgraded w/ Colt parts so I went for it.

The problem that I'm having with this gun seems to be with the ramp into the chamber. I know these guns don't like hallow points, but this one has problems even with ball. The slide jams the nose of the round into the slide, but is quickly re-chambered with a 1/4 inch pull back and release of the slide. Is there anything I can do to this gun like decreasing the slope of the ramp into the chamber, I hate to mill on the body of this gun since I have only one. However I do have access to a milling machine. Also, I know that if I mill the body that I will have to mill the ramp on the barrel(shiver). Will this make the barrel prone to fractures or would it still be safe.

I'm not a rich man, so any thing that cheap/free please let me know. Also, let me know anything else that may cause this problem.

Untill then I will pratice cold bore shot and then throwing at close range.

General Airsoft Discussion / New Field?
« on: August 01, 2003, 07:43:49 AM »
I was just out on my weekly 4x4 trip and came across a place that I thought might be a great field. At first I thought it would be stupid but with safety in mind, it might be cool.

In the White Tank Foothills, Approx 2 miles from Miller and I-10 (west valley) there is a old mining camp. the buildings are gone and there are some open mind shafts (all shafts, open or closed are fenced in)and the old stemwalls from the ore crusher. This site is on the side of a hill, somewhat overgrown, but looks cool. best yet. Two miles to Loves Truckstop where there is a Subway and Burger King. All land is owned by Gov. But they don't care aslong as there is no complaints.

There are alot of other areas around this site to play where there are no mine shafts. But they don't look as cool.

Because of liabilty, this could not be an AA game, but if any one is intersted to take a look at this place, or any others that are around the area. I will furnish the 4x4.

General Off-Topic Discussion / 1942 For PC

Has anyone already went out and bought this game, if so is it any good. I saw the review for it and it looked like a very well constructed war game with real battles and vehicles/planes/tanks that are all functional.

I was woundering if it would be possible or even logical to have a game where opposing teams never see/meet each other untill the game is on.
Have diffrent meeting places, each team has their own transport to the start point, maby have it so that the teams can't see the other teams start point from theirs. I think this would be a cool way of getting people pumped for a game.
Is it worth a try or even better, has it been done before by AA.

For all of us that aren't invisible, there is the ghillie suit by BushRag. I bought one for paintball and this thing works like a dream at night, and is not hard to make.

For $50.00 it's not a bad deal

Check it out

General Off-Topic Discussion / SOCOM on PS2
« on: November 10, 2002, 10:49:37 PM »
I know this is a PC game forum but I couldn't resist...
I am now completly (sp?) hooked on this game, this is the most relistic game I have found on any gaming system!!! I have yet to buy a internet card for the PS2 but I have played it on my friends, as long as you are running a good phone line it is a smooth running game.
I think it would be cool to get a team online and play each other or other teams... Has anyone else played this game and what do you think?

I understand that this would be helpful to police in accident investigation, and might effect your insurance rates for the better. (i.e. If your insurance co. sees that you observe the speed limits, use your blinker, and all that other law abiding crap. They lower your rates) I'm all for that, but as far as GPS tracking and being able to shut down your car if you are in a pursuit, NO WAY.

Truckers are plagued by a system called Qualcom that is used by companies for tracking trucks. This includes engine speed, idleing hours, check engine codes, ect..
However, drivers have found a way around this. On the top of the truck is a cone where the antenna is located, a little almumun tin foil and the truck is missing. I wounder if this could be used in new cars if GPS is implminted.

Also, can you imagine the law suits by criminals for having their car shut off while fleeing from cops.
" I'm sueing the state of Arizona for 1.3mil because my vehicle rolled over, breaking my neck. All because I lost power steering!"
Guess who would be payin for that criminals new mansion on south mountian. That's right kiddies, Me and you. The law abiding tax payers.

I thought it was a good movie, although the one girl was dressed exactly like Laura Croft in "Tomb Raider", minus the guns on both legs. I was also waiting for Jackie Chan to jump out and help them in the fight in the grave yard. The only things I didn't like about the movie was that (to me) there were no scarry parts and that the only thing they used to make you jump was the overly loud music, although sadly that has become more and more popular with movie makers. But overall I liked the movie.

I own a G17C real steel and I have to say, night fire is impossible. You get one shot and lose your night sight. As far as the kick, it is slightly less but the big diff. is the barrel raise.

Just my 2 cents.
