Looks like a sweet game. I myself have been hooked on "America's Army". It's the best mil simulation pc game I've seen and best of all, it's free. I downloaded it from americasarmy.com two months ago and have been hooked since. The qualifying bites but once you get your rankings the game is absoulutely incredible. I give it two thumbs up...

I have it, and it is HARD. I am stuck on the level where you are in the massive temple place. I always get spotted and the wife is killed. I really want to try it online though.

I'm still doing a personal strike on buying a PS2, but I do wish they would port it to X-Box or PC.

A personal strike on buying a PS2? Just curious but why's that?

I have heard alot about the Army's game and all of it good, but it doesn't have voice command or real time conversation between players. That just sells it-self.

Mike, I don't know if you knew but after you beat the 12 missions, your rank goes up and you get more guns, however, you have to beat the same 12 missions to go up in rank again.
The Temple mission is hard to learn, but once you rescue Morgan it's all downhill from there. But the later missions are harder. I spent a week and a half trying to beat the mission called "Rescue Mr. Pickle" and that was trying at least 3 times every night.
If you need any pointers I'll help you cheat...I mean, help you out. And let me know when you get a internet card, We'll make a new team and show them what kicking butt is all about.

To those who have a PS2 but haven't played, at least rent it and you'll be hooked.

Don't ask, Drake. It's mainly because I'm a X-Box lover, and the fact that Sony didn't make the PS2 as good as it could have been. It's less a personal strike than me just not liking the PS2...

My brother has an X-Box and i traded in all my old stuff and got a PS2 and I want to get online capablities, but I can only afford one. SOCOM would be better than Ghost Recon online, but it looks like better online ganes are coming out for X-Box.

Not to turn this into any console online game discussion, but with the X-Box, there's Unreal Championship coming out, and it already has a hard drive and network adapter, which in and of itself, I find good enough reason to get it, that, and Halo 2. :D!!!

I have nothing aginst Unreal, but I favor the realistic factor of games like SOCOM and Medal of Honor. My connection is good enough to play online PC games other than Starcraft.

I had a ps2 and gave it to my little brother as soon as the Xbox hit the market. In my opinion, it's the best gaming console built, but the real reason I bought it was for Operation Flaspoint. OFP is another great must have military sim game.Plus with the Xbox I was able to modify it with a 120 gig hard drive and am currently running 60 + games off it without ever having to change out cd's. It's a sweet setup I just couldn't do with my ps2.

SOCOM on PS2

I know this is a PC game forum but I couldn't resist...
I am now completly (sp?) hooked on this game, this is the most relistic game I have found on any gaming system!!! I have yet to buy a internet card for the PS2 but I have played it on my friends, as long as you are running a good phone line it is a smooth running game.
I think it would be cool to get a team online and play each other or other teams... Has anyone else played this game and what do you think?
