The second one that I posted is a player for the video if your having problems playing it use the link I posted and just select your OS from the ones available it will start the download and install its free software.

Use Quicktime 7 (after uninstalling iTunes)

That videolan client project also has a Linux player, bucket. That should play it.

Familliar Linux is it debian based?

If so use the debian link and follow the instructions. Keep in mind you have to have root priveledge when following the directions.
