Combat Challenge
« on: December 21, 2012, 01:59:37 AM »
Anyone know what happened to there website again? Last event it seems like they had the happened was Cold Burn 2 last November.  I loved the AO in Prescott and would love to play there again.  Anyone know anything about it?

I get the general feeling from the community that the CC Prescott AO's terrain is just way too difficult for most airsofters tastes.  Maybe I am wrong. If enough people respond to this thread that they would like to attend another event up there, that is something we can definitely do! Until then, finding another private AO takes time.

As for Florence, we would love to do another one out there but for the moment the Guard has changed their internal policy. Hopefully we'll be back there in the future.

As for the website, some people have issues loading the site while others don't.  It's un-regrettable that this issue can not be fixed at the moment. All future Combat Challenge Events will be announced here on the AA forums as well as the CC website.

Those figures are a good start!  If they have AA accounts encourage them post up and represent!

Yeah, I will have them do so, I also know some guys in CA that would come over to do it if they do some good scenarios.  I got a entire team in Tucson that has 2012 devgru kits in AOR1 and I know guys in CA that have the same thing, maybe do something like Devgru and Army SF vs. Haji instead of Russian to make it more real.  Also this time have gameplay at night, not just during the day.  Just a thought. I will have them post up on here definitely, love that AO, bit of challenging terrain, but it is like the real thing, makes it fun.

The terrain is tough for sure but not a deal killer IMO.  Other peoples mileage may vary.  The biggest impact for me so far has been the site outage.  Not knowing about an event that is paid and requires me to beg/borrow/steal a weekend from the wife until 2 or 3 weeks before is killing me.  The commitment to post on AA will be helpful from that stand point.  If you guys need a hand with the website stuff let me know.  I have space on a server I lease time on for TAC so it would be pretty easy to ftp the contents over and redirect the name servers for DNS to resolve the host name to something reachable by all ISPs until a long term solution can be found for your current host.

At Red Dagger II there was a night game scheduled but at the last minute everybody decided to not do it.

Thanks for the recommendations Sordin, we need to find more people who share your enthusiasm in doing those kind of things.  Cause we absolutely love doing those things too! One of my favorite challenges we gave a tier one team looking for a real world test, was a para miss drop in the dead of night.  Once "dropped" off at the wrong coordinate, each buddy team had to find they're way back to their original rally point and regroup with the rest of their squad before continuing on mission. Personally I love a bit of real world issues to solve in a milsim game.

Kiley, thanks for the offer. I'll keep that open as an option before the next event, it might make things a bit easier for people during registration time.

So I can guess CC hasn't been operational in some time, but I would love to see another event at some point in the near future!  Bulken Hammer in Flagstaff is still to date my favorite operation I've even been to.  I went the with Sgt. Keenan and a couple NG battle buddies..

I guess I didn't post it on this forum, but 2015 is the last year of EastWind. So, if anyone has ever been on the fence about going, next year is the last chance. Its the most fun I've ever had airsofting.
