What brand of standards are people using now?

Are Tokyo Marui still the most popular or is there an alternative now?

If you can deal with the slightly longer when in gun attributes, for M16 variants, G&G standards kick butt, the ones with the BB follower that feeds all the BB's into the feed tube.  They have the same size as the real magazines when outside the gun, when inside, they are a tad bit longer...

Other than that, I stick to Mag Midcaps or Marui standards for M16's.

Vince, how come you are not using the Magpull PTS mags? 120 round P-mags!!!   From what I've seen they feed in every gun they are used in, not to mention tacticool factor to go with your tacticoolness :P

Maybe I will check those out.

I haven't bought magazines in probably four years and most of mine are too bent to function and a couple have been run over by cars and don't fit really well any more.

Thanks.

I use Mag midcaps, but they are plastic and I wouldnt drop them but they do save on weight. the PTS Magpuls are pretty tough though and they are polymer, they also feed every time. as for metal, the only ones I have are G&P's I bought off Scott. they work great but are almost double the weight of the Mag brand.

My king arms Midcaps (plastic) suck. I bought two boxes and even after lubrication still have feeding issues. I'd take Mag over these. I dont even know where to find TM mags anymore...

I use King Arms midcaps, they work great for me. I treat them like sh*% and they keep on feeding. They get filled with dirt, wet, muddy, sometimes get left loaded for months on end, and never ever give me any issues.

I've dropped my MAG mid caps on concrete several times because I do that sort of thing.  Sometimes the cap comes off the bottom but the mag keeps going.  I've also been happy with my Green Label PMAG's.  The plastic isn't as nice as the PTS PMags, but they perform just fine.  They've been bounced around a bit as well.

These Green Label PMags are reliable then?

I will check them out - they seem affordable enough.

Yeah, just be aware PMag Ranger plates don't really work on the Green Label ones if you were getting Ranger plates.  The green label mags lack the button to lock the Ranger Plate in place.  It's a fairly tight fit, but not really tight enough.

I've heard that the green labels don't feed very well, is it true? And for the normal Magpul PTS they feed great and durable

I have also heard this about the Green Labels, LOTS of reviews saying they suck, very few saying they are decent... if anything I'd pay the extra to get the Magpul PTS ones (not the Green Labels) just for the extra assurance that they will feed when I need them to.

I'll second that bad review on King Arms. My friend bought a box, and not a single one will feed properly even after proper lubrication.

I've got 5 boxes of the Green Label PMags (sold off one box).  As long as you lube them and don't over fill them, I've never had a problem.

The allure of the Tokyo Marui magazines to me is that their functionality is guaranteed in all conditions.

I want a magazine that I don't need to service a whole lot that will always work.

I'm with Vince on this one, that sounds like a lot of work, especially since lubricants tend to attract dust, I can't imagine how often it must be done to keep em going.  I avoid lubricating mags at all costs even in Nebraska where the dust in the air is about 25% of what it is in AZ.  I'm fairly confident that the full on PTS mags dont require that maintenance, I know for a fact the G&G's dont and the TM's dont.
