Send your Prayers
« on: March 18, 2005, 06:08:17 PM »
No responses are neccesary here but you can if you feel inclined.

A co-worker of mine just lost his life in a tragic car accident this past Wednesday. His name is Jerry Durbin and He worked as part of our Water team in the City of Goodyear.  He was in charge of Water Quality and was a very outgoing and funny guy.  In a few words, Good hearted is what sums him up best.  I just ask for people to pray for his two little boys 6, and 7 years old who were in the vehicle with him.  They survived with no damage, but except for a cut on the oldest boy, as they were secured in their seatbelts.  His life revolved around his kids as they were on their way to T-ball practice.  The kids do not have many relatives left and will be taken in by Jerry's brother and sister in-law.  Jerry will be sorely miss by us all at our Department and by those he knew.  Again no response is neccesary, I just ask for people's prayer's for Jerry's boys and family after this tragic accident.  Thanks.

Thanks for all your prayers! It helps just to know that there are people out there who never knew Jerry that are praying for his kids. Again, Thanks!

I pray that God will lead these two boys in a life that is honorable and that God will comfort them in such a hard time. He sounds like a good guy. May he rest in peace.

He sounds like a good guy.

He was a great guy.  The thing I admire about him most is how he fought for his kids custody from his ex-wife. See she was and is a drug addict and he tried very hard to help her, but she didnt want to change no matter how much it hurt the kids.  This took alot of courage to do and I also admire how he was able raise the kids on his own.  They meant everything to him.  I just can't imagine this happening to anyone who is 6 or 7 years old.  Its tough enough for me at times.

Anyways, His funeral is Wed morning.  We hope to have several city vehicles in the Persession.  (I dont know if thats spelled right)
