Title: OP: Red Rock Rampage II 09/15/07 @ 0630 *updated time*
Post by: Kileyhaz on July 09, 2007, 01:28:37 PM
Tucson Airsoft Coalition along with AEX are proud to announce Red Rock Rampage 2.

Prologue:
The nationals living in this remote and desolate South American region are not friendly.  The local government has their hands deep into the local drug trade and have a vested interest in keeping it afloat.  Essential to the narcotics traffic is an outpost near the Mexican border that overlooks a coveted road used for transport of contraband, this outpost is garrisoned by national troops and their dope dealing mercenary associates and they will defend to a man.  A Mexican expedition force along with US allies has been dispatched to infiltrate over the border, take this outpost, gather intel and then burn it to the ground before withdrawing.

When: Saturday September 15th 2007
Time: 0630 Arrival
         0700 Briefing
         0715 Deployment
         0730 Game begins

Where: SASCO
http://www.tucsoncoalition.com/modules. ... opic&t=740 (http://www.tucsoncoalition.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=740)
(For those coming the front route, I will be at the wash between 600 and 630 to shuttle from the wash to the opsite.  If you show up after 630 you'll have to arrange an alternate shuttle, walk, or brave the wash in whatever ride you have)

What: Scenarios will follow the above story line and will be announced as part of the briefings on game day.  The game will wrap up around 1230 and afterwards we will hold a raffle for AEX donated prizes.  The raffle is free of charge and all those who participate in the days games and are on hand afterwards are eligible.

AEX has provided some great support for this event to include Multicam hats with AEX patches and a KWA tan and black USP GBB, I think we could toss an AEX shirt or two into the pot as well.  See you there!

Directions from Tucson are here, from up North it'd be the same but you'd start heading south on I10 towards Tucson

http://tucsoncoalition.com/modules.php? ... opic&t=740 (http://tucsoncoalition.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=740)

After you check the directions please confirm your interest and uniform again so I can keep the roster as accurate as possible.  Thanks.

Hey Guys, its getting close to the time I have to submit the roster to the sponsors for prize support.  If your looking to attend please RSVP so that I can give them as early and accurate an account of players planning to show as I can.  Thank you!

Ok Gang, our roster is current as of now, if I missed you please post saying so.  As is mentioned in the opening post AEX will be providing some prize support for this event in the form of raffle prizes.  The amount of support is based on the number of attendees and overall interest in the event.  I'll be submitting our roster to AEX at the end of this week for their evaluation to send prize support.  If you haven't signed up and think you'll be showing please sign up now rather then later so that AEX can factor your attendance in.  Thank you!

OK, I added you to the NAF team to fill it up.  We still have a bunch of slots for mercs (any color camo for them) and a handful for the A/MEF team.  If we can fill the merc and A/MEF teams up to about 9 we'll open up a few more slots on each team.

Yes sir I understand, I have you +1 for now on the roster but feel free to bring as many folks along as you wish.  We can always shuffle folks around to get the teams evened out the day of and we WILL NOT turn anyone away at the gate for sure.

Just wanted to let everyone  know that all the scenario details are being finalized at this point.  The actual details will be briefed to your teams the day of the event both verbally and with a map/hand out given to team leads, but here are some points to expect so you can plan and load out appropriately.

All 3 teams should expect to be able to walk/fight at least 2 miles during the day (NAF and mercs may slightly less to cover depending on the flow of battle), so bring enough ammo and water on your person to complete this task.

NAF and Merc teams should expect to have a large portion of the day set aside for repelling incoming attacks from fortified positions, so bring appropriate weaponsgear and maybe some portable cover such as a large back pack, riot shields etc.

All 3 teams will be constrained to 2 or 3 options as far as paths (non designated areas are off limits due to 'land mines') that can taken, so squad based bounding will be important for the AMEF advance and also for any Merc of NAF roaming patrols.

Expect to play 1 continuous scenario with no breaks in the action (aside from respawn) until one sides victory conditions are met (1200 stop time for a merc/naf victory, AMEF could end the game prematurely if they accomplish their objectives)

We will wrap up around 1200, have the raffle for prizes at 1230 and then open it up to pickup games for those that want to continue playing.

We still have a need for several Merc spots to be filled, so sign up if you can make it (mercs can wear ANY camo).  If you have any questions please reach out to Krash or myself, thanks!

DC-Ops is always down for the SASCO.  I think me and Bulldog will be able to make this one.  We use 6-color desert, don't care what team we're on.

Haven't shot me any Tuc-son boys lately anyway.

We'll make room for you, worst case scenario we'll have to ask for volunteers to shuffle and even out teams the day of but NO ONE will be turned down.

I have added you +1 to the AMEF force.

@silentdragon and anyone else who needs a ride.  If the water is high your car wont make it, park your car near the santa cruz river and we will have a shuttle there before 630 so show up before then or you may end up being at the mercy of others who are late and have trucks or walking.

See you there!

Glad you had a good time, I did as well aside from the heat.  Yes that laying on your back move was awesome how many guys came around that corner and fired where you would have been had you been standing and then got laid out by you?  Had to have been at least 2 of them, I'll have to add that one to my book of tricks.  Great shooting, looking forward to seeing you this weekend.

For RRR I was gonna roll with the AMEF force but seeing how large it got I'll probably stand out most of the game and organize.  If and when I do play it will be for random amounts of time with AMEF.

Thanks!

Might be tough to charter someone to backtrack all the way down to the cattle guard, you should be able to get up to the big river without much issue, try to make it that far if possible.  Other trucks should be making the trip from the front so catching an unchartered ride should be easy enough if you have to.

Not very wise... considering last time i went "romping" on a dirt road i ended up in a ditch.  It was a New Years Eve game at Bloody Basin, and i left the AO on a donut... and the part that's more screwed up is the fact that right after the game, i had to drive to Sedona.  And yes... i drove back to Phoenix on that donut.  Bent a rim... talk about shitty.  Got what i deserved tho... shouldn't go nutz in a Neon.

Each groups respawn rules say they must walk east after dying then re-enter the game after our designated respawn time.  Is that correct?  Everyone re-enterd the game from the same direction after dying the first time?

Copy & paste error, apologies for the confusion.  AMEF walks west, back towards their border during respawn.

Airsofter1, are you interested in being one of the AMEF commanders and cooridnating with the other AMEF commanders?

Correct, several large busg clumps and the wash to the south of the road provide the most cover for an AMEF advance.  The of course the ruins provide cover for the defenders.  The rest of the area is pretty wide open and shade will be at a premium.

Initial post on TAC updated with the following rules amendment-

UPDATED RESPAWN RULES for RRR:2

AMEF Forces:
AMEF forces will have a 5 minute respawn time, as an AMEF player, when your hit don your death rag and walk back towards the AMEF ingress point (staging area) for 5 minutes, when you hit the 5 min mark remove your rag and come back into the game. respawn in unlimited.

NAF Forces:
NAF forces will have a 5 minute respawn time, as an NAF player, when your hit don your death rag and walk back towards the NAF fire base or the Merc border guard house, once there wait for 5 minutes, when you hit the 5 min mark remove your rag and come back into the game. respawn is unlimited.

Merc Forces:
Merc forces will have a 5 minute respawn time, as an Merc player, when your hit don your death rag and walk back towards the NAF fire base or the Merc border guard house, once there wait for 5 minutes, when you hit the 5 min mark remove your rag and come back into the game. respawn is unlimited

*Remember, play health smart, if your overheating take extra time to cool down and hydrate

*Please everyone, no spawn camping, if your assaulting a base where respawn is happening thats fine but don't hang out there after its been taken to pick off the wounded.

*Play smart with your resources, dont keep burning off your respawns to assault a point that is to difficult to take, we'd like to keep everyone in the game all day long if possible.

Any questions, feel free to hit me up.

Greetings, based on the outcry I have received privately by mail and IM it is evident that several players did not get the chance to vote last night.  Based on this new feedback and the fact that several players are traveling long distances to play in the event based on the original rule set I have come up with a compromise, please re-read the above post to see the new, locked, rule set.  Those who contacted me, in the future please make your outcries public so we have a better feel on what the real public consensus is, thank you.

All,
Thanks for a great day, and the chance to meet so many new faces.  We had the largest turn out I have seen in southern AZ (i'll admit my experience is limited to less then a year though) we'll be sure to get the count from the group photo and post it up (someone counted low 70's i think).

All in all I think the day went well, aside from a few minor issues with questionable hits (some of which I'll be following up individuals on), and I would invite you to send me feedback on the event, my conduct, or the anything thats on your mind.

I would like to thank all of you who made the trip out and participated in this insane heat.  I would also like to thank AEX for setting us up with some great prizes and sponsoring the event.  Lastly I'd like to thank Krash, CipherBlue, Beanns2, Bio, Smoothcat, AMSOG_Tonk, NoVTechHERE, and all the squad leads for helping setup and organize the main event.

Hope to see a RRR:3 next year.

Thank you all for a great event. I hope I didn't offend anyone too much out there with making the usual noob mistakes that where pointed out to me. Those things do sting a little as I think I had few people use the side of my head for target practice. That's o.k. the marks should go away soon.

Had a good time even though my gun broke after 300 rounds, Thanks to GCR for loaning me his backup so I could help with the assault on the Alamo. Thanks for setting it all up Kiley, I will definitely make it out to future TAC games.

I lost a black belt with a drop leg holster, and a glock mag in the pistol holster's top mag pocket.

the game was fun, of course it had it's issues, as does any game, but i had a lot of fun. The alamo was intense.

no, ramster154 was not the one on NAF with the homemade ghilie suit and AGM M14, if you ment NAF. I know the guys who had that, and he is not ramster154.

Did anyone find a pistol around the alamo? I lost it, but I still have the holster and extra mag, but the gun fell out. Someone must have picked it up because I had it within the last 15 min, and I could not find it when I retraced my steps. Please tell me if you have found a pistol!! I will give reward if you fess up!

ramster 154, were you the guy who had the M14 loadout with a full gun camo job? You didn't have a ghilie suit right? cuz a guy I was with had a ghilie suit and an AGM M14.
