OP: HARD BEAN XXIV!!!

MISSION: AO is Four Peaks Recreation area. Located approx 15 miles north of the intersection of Shea Blvd and Hwy 87 (Beeline). Big sign that says FOUR PEAKS RECREATION AREA marks where to turn off. Turn right and continue down the dirt road (cars okay) for 2 miles. Pay attention to your odometer because the next turn is hard to see. At the 2 mile point, turn right. Continue down that dirt road for another 4 miles. Once you get there you will see where the parking staging area is. Do not fire AEGs till you know where the designated test firing lane is.

Meet time is 0700 at the Baja Conoco gas station on the south east corner of Ft. Mcdowell Rd and Hwy 87 (2 miles north from Shea Blvd). Depart there NLT 0730. Or be at the AO at 0800.

Title:
Post by: Airsofter1 on December 28, 2007, 09:05:31 PM
Well... the default location if I don't find another cool new place will be 4 Peaks.  I want to see if I can find an area south of the valley.  Teams will have specific uniform requirements - ACU, MARPAT, MC, Woodland, and possibly some solid color "special units" type thing (maybe) - similar to what we did at Balkan Hammer and the upcoming Red Dagger.

The usual fun stuff and trying to add more realistic details to the game too.  The typical regen type rules will remain the same, but I want to add Balkan-esq type medic fun.

GPS systems will come into play also so if you got'em, bring them.

And it will of course be 18+ only unless sponsored or accompanied by a parent.

No, That's actually about the only pattern that I don't have...A buddy of mine has it and we were curious if it was accepted, I'll call him now and see what we can come up with. Thanks!

Apparently Mikey has booked Club Tatoo for this game. There is a round limit and friendly fire will get you kicked out of the game. 18+ only.

That guy is crazy.  There is no limit on the ammo you can carry.  I was pondering a standard mags only game, but I decided against that this time.
Maybe next time.

No.  Your parents have cannot just leave you at the game and come to get you later.  They have to stay there they whole time.  They can either play, or stay in the staging area.  There is no waiver they can sign so you can show on your own.  Alternately, if you know any 21+ players that come to my games you can ask them to sponsor you.  But again they have to be at the game you are attending as well.

A word to the wise. It's ok to wear your BDU pants and boots in public, but not the full getup. Just wear a sweatshirt (or some other misc apparel) and switch to your BDU jacket when we get out there. That way we just look like crazy rednecks which AZ has an abundance of therefore avoiding sucspicion.

I think it would be a good idea to just park at Fort McDowell. Not sure if there is a big landmark to meet at in the parking lot though.
Title:
Post by: Phyrst on January 23, 2008, 07:01:20 PM
Here is the intel I have on the parking problems last time;  There were vehicles parked right in front of signs posted as NO PARKING.  These vehicles were issued warnings.  Other Vehicles on the other side of the parking lot were not tagged.(Edisons' was one of these).

My advice would be to park elsewhere, or if you wish to park at the Conoco tell some-one inside.

Personally I think the lady that works at the Conoco was just stirring up drama.  I was there for all the drama and waited till most of the people came back and got thier cars, none got towed.

If you got a warning on your car then, DON'T PARK THERE,  they say that your Lic. # is on file with them for 1 year.

Thats all I have, I will not be parking there and after the Drama of the lady I may never buy breakfast and munchies there ever again.

Be Well,
Charlie

My friend, it has never stopped us before, I remember that one game in Strawberry that had a storm roll in on us. It was wet, but it added atmosphere and made the game that much cooler.

And Charlie thanks for clearing that up, I try to stay out of the way and park in the designated spots. But if there is trouble or if we are asked to move then I'll just go to Ft. McDowell.

But yeah, the game will still be on rain or shine.  If its raining so bad the whole valley becomes a raging torrent of water then it would be cancelled.  But we won't know that till we get there.   ;)

The rain always seems to appear when an AA game rolls around....the forecast for that side of town only shows "maybe" rain thursday and saturday. I mainly concern over Flash Flood warnings since those are the ones that will get you.

My 2wd truck has driven through rain in mud before and it will do it again, this time I'll bring straps. I just don't want to get stuck in mud, thats just embarrassing.

Glad everyone had a great time!  I'll fix the things that went awry to make for a smoother start ;)

On another note:  I was very upset that a couple of underage players showed up.  You may be turning 18 in 4 months but that does not mean you can play.  Next time, wait 4 months.  And players that are 18 cannot sponsor players that are 17.  Next time read the rules.

The moral of the story is:  If you can't be honest about your age, how can you be trusted to call your hits?

Don't take advantage of my kindness next time.

I think that you should make the ID check a permanent fixture Mikey.

Oh, and the questionable sportsman ship that I personally witnessed were with the "younger" group, although not always exclusive to that age group.

I have to say I agree with checking IDs.  It is unfortunate we cannot trust people enough to come and follow the rules.  But until we know someone personally, we might have to just check IDs when they show up.

Good Game guys,

By the way did any one pick up a Tan Rubber Grenade with a yellow streamer. It was used some where near border line, near the wash, southern half.
