I was looking at picking up a SCAR and didn't see a thread like this through searching. Who makes the best currently on the market? Which ones should I steer clear of? Any issues with you've had with ones you've bought? Are you happy with the gun if you own one? And finally the $$$ question, is there really any difference between owning a SCAR or a M-4? REACT TO ME!

Stay away from JG cause my friend bought one from a guy online saying ot was a CA and he was sent a JG. I have had to take it apart and it's damn near impossible to get back together. It's still in peices wrapped in a towl underneath my bed. Stay away from JG but i bet you already knew that. Just putting my wood on the fire.

You sure you don't mean the JLS SCAR? It's not any more difficult to work on, it's just different than other designs. Try to find a guide online on reassembly if you're having trouble.
The main reason to stay away from the JLS model is because it's made of crappy quality parts and doesn't look like a SCAR. The VFC model is the most realistic, and the CA SCAR isn't too bad either, just not as nice as the VFC.

The G&G one is quite nice. It can be hard to tell the difference from a VFC.

Except for the fact that last I checked, it was the same thing as the CA.
Even if the above statement isn't true, I love my VFC, its well worth the money and its a finely tuned beauty of a piece.

There's a SCAR at Gearbox on consignment. I think it was a CA.

Oh my bad your right it is the JLS one, i've put it together and had it work for about three shots and then wouldn't work so i've just given up. it's the wiring and i don't wanna mess with it cause i'm no good with wires.

I personally own the G&G model, but I have handled and shot both the CA, Star and VFC models. The G&G uses a slightly simpler wiring configuration in the stock than the CA and has better externals in my opinion. The Star though is the best of quality I have seen, but is about $200 more than the VFC at most retailers. I am very pleased with my G&G though; I have been using it every other weekend since february and have not had any firing problems whatsoever.

Camx,
I have a CA I might sell. Absolutely nothing wrong with it. Upgraded to 350 w/ .20's. Just have more guns than I need. PM me if you're interested.
