-
Okay Im new, what is APD, and where is it on bell road
-
Arizona Paintball Depot. It is good for almost anything aside from work on your guns. They also have a field that they haven't been opening much for airsoft in the past year.
-
^ No they open it, but only until someone makes a topic about it and then they close it again =P
their location is:
2708 E Bell Rd
Phoenix, AZ 85032
(602) 493-0318
On the North side of the road (right if comming from Frank lyod right)

This is unfounded and inaccurate.

Not true at all. Iv'e been taking my guns there for years (including the JT era) and have had only one complaint. The complaint was that the vending machine was out of Mountain Dew.
-
you misunderstand me i am not trashing ron or his store i love gerabox and i like going in there to look at guns and buy bits of gear like shemaghs and gun parts but i have seen too many people take there guns in there and have them come back still not fixed or fixed with bad parts and done poorly gearbox is a great store to me i just dont trust anyone but me and justin at CQB to fix guns sorry this was so long

I've had Ron's guys work on almost every gun I've owned and for all of my friends for years whether for repair, upgrade, or routine maintainance and have always been satisfied. AEGs break, especially when abused. the fact that you are going off of just seeing someone drop off a gun is not only hear-say but inaccurate. You have no idea what that person did to thier gun, unless you not only live at gearbox to see it come in, out then back again but are with them everytime they use the gun. Unless you have a first hand experince of having an issue with them it's not right to bash on a name of a creditable person that has been properly and honestly serving it's customers in an reputable fashion for about a decade if not longer. IMHO your creditablity goes down the tiolet with the people that repost inaccurate info from other forums and try to defend it with out admitting they were wrong. First hand experience is always king, and since all you have is weak hearsay at best, it's not cool to bash a good guy and good place that speicalizes in Airsoft, not some paintball place with what you have(dont have rather).
-
my bad i apologize i didn't mean to trash Ron's store rep i was just stating an opinion and for the record i think gearbox is a great store
-
but i have seen too many people take there guns in there and have them come back still not fixed or fixed with bad parts and done poorly
Bad parts? Done poorly? Returned not fixed? Why haven't we been contacted by these people if this was the case? Of course we'd take care of any issues, we're a service-oriented business. I'm glad you're confident in your own ability to work on your stuff, we all should be as proficient. I just fail to see why we haven't heard more complaints if you have seen "too many people" with problems.

I praise Ron and the crew at Gearbox. He has bent over backwards to help me. He is what customer service used to be. I cannot say enough good things about what he does. Let alone, everybody at Gearbox greats me by first name, and I only make it there about once every other month.

I second that. Gearbox has done nothing but provide quality repairs and excellent customer service for me.
-
All you have to do is look at the back and see racks of guns getting worked on. They are the best IMHO and they have great customer service.
Oh and the best thing at Gearbox is Toobin'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
the gearbox is the best! i had my gun in for a full body conversion and paul got me new parts for discounted prices and called me himself and updated how it was going. never had better service anywhere

That is, when it's on and when it wants to work... ;)
Gearbox Airsoft is by far the best airsoft shop in the Valley.

yes i have been there a few times and took a gun to repair once and had to take it to apd to get it to work all the way right and shim my gear box. since then haven't had any problems. now im not trying to down talk gear box nearly stating my opinion just like u are i majorly support apd and u support gear box. but apd has been under looked as a airsoft supply and repairs. hey as long as both stores keep us shooting at each other then its all good.

The only off topic/inappropriate posts are these last ones you guys have put up calling for moderation.
-
APD is amazing, and theyve been able to help me with everything
i totally reccomend them they have amazing prices.

what you guys need to realize is that both apd and gearbox do the same work on guns they fix whats broke. After workin on my own guns and my friends guns i realized that it will brake regardless. Just because apd or gearbox fixs it and it brakes within a day doesnt mean its there fault. They dont give it back broke its just the fact that you have a peace of sh i t gear box that brakes all the time. instead of complaining and sayin that they suck why dont you do it your self or at least not act stupid and look up better part that will prevent your gun from braken. A smart white guy would do is by better parts off the internet and then take it to gear box or apd. For example i bet a bunch of you guys brake pistons like crazy go to www.aimtop.com.tm (http://www.aimtop.com.tm) and get a full metal tooth piston it will be red and it will be missing the second and third teeth.put it in my friends gun after he broke one piston every weekend for two months. Its been in his gun now for over 7 months and still working great
-
APD is lame, they say the sell KWA's but they don't ill just stick with Gearbox

they do, just KWA GBB's not AEG's. the only AEG brands they sell are CA, and some E1 but that's about all I've seen since the last time I went.

but the only thing u have to worry about the metal teethed pistons is ur gonna do more wear and tear on your gear set unless ur building a rifle for .25 or .30 bbs only with massive power behind it then i would recommend but i would rather change a $15-$30 piston then a $50-$70 gear set but to each his own i have had both metal and standard pistons and no matter what u do ur always gonna break something after all these are toys not the real deal

yea necro thread!
I live less that 4min from APD and drive 45min to an hour (traffic always sucks) to gearbox because they have never done me wrong. They supply the best service and if I may say so, are a bit anal about getting things done right. They never cut corners and treat everyone's gear like it was there own, unlike apd. I go to APD for gas rig supplies for my classic airsoft guns, only and even then some of the 'kids' working dont have a clue as to what I am looking for or the specs on the products they sell.
All you douches need to pull the dicks from each others mouths when trying to talk shit about GB. Gearbox has been, and will forever be the only place to get good service here in the southwest. Hell I have seen people shipping guns in to them to be worked on! It aint cheap to pay shipping BOTH ways and for everything done.
If you dont like it, take a quote for Doc, "Go eatadick"

i went to APD yesterday and they didnt have that many guns on sale. i wanted to get a gun there but i couldnt afford it. do u know if they are going to be having a sale or did i miss it?
-
Yep just barely. Like fourteen months ago barely.
