Title: ANYONE WITH G&P PRODUCT INFO?
Post by: Jags87 on November 20, 2009, 10:31:51 PM
Hit me up with any information on G&P products. I've always used TM and CA airsoft rifles and I just wanna try out a different brand. So anyone with product knowledge on the G&P such as durability, reliabilty, and part compatability drop me a line. Thanks

maybe not what your expecting but the G&P line of gas blow backs is incredible and arguably the best to date. No noted failures to be found anywhere. And if there were...most likely it would be a $20 fix.

AEG wise I have only used one of their AR variants that had the m120 motor with their new 8mm gearbox. Had to say it ran like myrrh. It was a HOSE with the 11.1v 20c lipo the guy had in it. The exterior (though worn) seemed to have been flawless just as my G&P woc was. The guy that ran it had never opened the gearbox and I have only heard the vfc pdw run that smooth from being perfectly shimmed by the spring shims. All he added was the mosfet with active breaking. (there are a few vids on youtube of guys running lipos on G&Ps and having failures due to voltage spikes).

So what can I say? I love G&P exteriors. And if that ar was any indicator, their 8mm gearbox was something to love too.

I have a G&P special forces M4 and it is a beast. I have guys constantly ask me when I go full auto if I am running a lipo and I am not just the standard G&P 9.6. The quality of the G&P guns are amazing! I would recommend one to anyone.

The pro's of the gun speak for themselves, great externals, some quality internals, but I'll hit you up with some of the serious cons of G&P guns:

G&P gears are natorious for shattering shafts.  I've had two come in for repairs with broken shafts, a third with a broken gear teeth, none from any jams or anything like that.

G&P's white piston seems to be hit or miss.  I've adjusted the Angle of Engagement on a fair number of them and they run strong, yet in an equal number that I do the AoE mod to come back with broken pistons.  The old G&P white pistons are far too hard and break really easily.

G&P's Deans connectors suck, they are looser than a prostitute and really are not made of that good of quality plastic or metal.  Their hop up rubbers still suck balls compared to aftermarket, but at least their hop up units dont suck as bad anymore.

Good purchase if you dont mind replacing stuff when it breaks.  Most of the rest of the internals are bullet proof.

KJW M9's and Glocks. I put 20,000 rounds through my g23 and it never had a single issue. One time, the mag leaked, and some silicone fixed it.

My G&G M14 Veteran is well over 80,000 rounds on the stock gearbox (chronos at 390 FPS w/ .25's).  Nothing broken so far :P  The piston is on it's way out, but I'm not surprised about that :P
