Yeah, yeah.. It took 10+ years to kill a dialysis-requiring cripple and now all the American, Afghan, Iraqi, and Coalition deaths for these wars are justified?
You use police and detectives on criminals, or maybe a Seal team, not armies.

Pay closer attention to the specifics of the operation that got him. Maybe that will get you thinking in the other direction as to why it took us 10+ years to get him.
The fact that he was deep inside the Pakistani border, in a well-known military town, 100 miles from the CAPITAL of Pakistan, in a home, in plain sight...
Kinda makes you wonder who needs to start answering questions, doesn't it?
Don't dishonor our fallen soldiers by playing the anti-war game at their expense. Those brave men and women knew exactly what they were doing when they volunteered.

We have known exactly where Bin Laden has been for years.....
The question is what really happened. 3 scenarios come to mind.
1. His kidneys finally failed. So we put a bullet in his head and said "Hey we got him"
2. Obama was worried about re-election, so he pulled the ace out of his sleeve.
3. Something has been brewing. With FEMA ordering 1 billion dollars in food. They thought hey what a good time to kill Osama, get public support on our side. Tell the public the terror threat will be through the roof, so we need to up security. This will give them the leverage to pass Patriot Act Version 2.
To think we finally found him, and killed him. Is utter BS

I don't wave flags. I don't think what I'm told to think. I've seen violent death, and don't support a war that only enriches others at our expense. "Brave" men and women joined voluntarily, It's their ass if things go bad, but I don't glorify them. We're no safer because of any of this.

I wave flags because I'm proud to be an American patriot. I celebrate the downfall of evil, and Bin Ladin was evil. Regardless of how he died, he's gone, and the world is a slightly better place because of it. I don't think what I've been told to think, as you have so elegantly implied. Perhaps you should take a gander at my signature and see if that gives you any hints.
Glorify our troops? You bet I do. They're not gods but are those who put their own lives on the line in defense of others. I do my best to thank any one of them I meet and tell them that I appreciate their sacrifice. It's because of people like THEM we get to enjoy the freedoms we do. It's because of people like THEM that other nations get a slight glimmer of hope every once in awhile when SOMEONE in this world loves freedom and liberty more then self. And you wonder why when it hits the fan and someone is in dire need, to whom do they plead for help? I'm not saying this to boast of our power, I'm saying this to glorify the cause of freedom that is just. The USA is different, and the world knows it.
Today is just one more reason that I am proud to fly the Stars & Stripes.

He was not saying anything condescending to American troops. But the guys actually calling the shots.
He has nothing against poor people joining and fighting in a war, that will never end. He does have something against the people who have money invested, in creating war.
Aren't you guys "fighting for our freedoms"? I believe one of those is the 1st amendment.

All of you may have your 1st amendment rights, but you have to remember:
These forums, as much as it may feel to be, are not public forums. There are moderators, and bottom line is that they get to decide what is said and what isn't.
Also keep in mind that you're on here where most of these people are Republican and/or military personnel. You may not agree with what they're saying, but it may be wise to keep it to yourself if you need to use the local game listings and/or classifieds forums. Your 1st amendment rights are your rights, but as Vince said

As said by a former SEAL, any fight longer than three minutes is very long. This one was 40 minutes.
Down the street from a military academy, kinda makes me wonder if the Pakistani military sent out a patrol to see what was going on and saw US choppers on the ground outside the compound or in the air above it. Imagine being that commander: defend an infamous terrorist mastermind on your own soil at the behest of your leaders, or go toe-to-toe with the US elite... someone's head may roll for that (literally).
The fact that this compound was built in 2005 with an obvious purpose in mind only begs multiple questions.
If what we are hearing is true about how it went down, hats off to DevGru for accomplishing what they did.
Oh, and I must add something about the "poor people fighting in unending wars for rich businessmen" comment from above. That made me chuckle. [smilie=armata_pdt_34.gif]

I believe that we can have intelligent conversations here and should be able to respect each other’s opinions with out resorting to blatant banter. I think we are at a higher standard and are above this. The way I look at it is, there is no way we are done with anything just because one man is killed. If anyone believes that, they just have their head in the sand.

No one thinks we are done. Because for every insurgent we kill, we spawn 2. For every civilian we kill, we spawn 10.
We will never leave the middle east. People will still volunteer to go there, and wait to get shot at; and blown up.
It's sad. Truly truly sad.

First off, a big props to all those serving our country, both here and abroad. Much appreciation.
Second of all, I would LOVE to be the SEAL who has forever bragging rights for being the guy that double tapped bin Laden in the face. That's marksmanship right there.
OEF and OIF will be going on for a long time, that much is true. I'm looking forward to the time where I finally get the chance to sign up and do my part.
