Hey guys,
So I have been looking at more serious mil-sim stuff lately, and i have come across the topic of headgear. I already have a headset in mind, but i wanted to know what the mounts you need are for a prop night vision set, like this one:

Yes, i know it's fake, but i would prefer that. Also, what other kind of accessories can i put on it? If anyone has any advice, or a helmet with mounts, i love to trade or buy it from you. Thanks guys,
Dust

My advice is to buy a helmet with the NVG and Rails already mounted so you don't fuck up the alignment trying to do it yourself.
As far as accessories go: If it doesn't do something, don't weigh your head down with it.

I think the prop that i posted a link for has that mount at the bottom, but is that all i need? Besides the top one?

Honestly I have no idea. I've been recently looking into helmets myself.

And this to mount it

That's what I THINK you need to mount it

I don't think you need any of that. Considering you don't have the real 8k$ NV pair.
What you would need though on the rails are a light and maybe if you want a camera. Like bowser said, you don't need extra weight. A heavy helmet will guns you neck pains eventually.

join the dark side (gearwhores), young one. What kit are you getting the helmet for? Is it for an impression or do you just want a helmet?

If your going for an impression (SEAL, USMC, Army, ect.), do research on what they wear and buy your gear accordingly.
(I'm just going to use a SEAL or SF impression for my examples)
In most of the pictures I see of SF in the field, they aren't wearing the carbon Fast Helmet, they are rocking the Ballistic version (No holes in the top. The real one offers more protection)

If you are mounting NODs on there, make sure to buy a sturdy ass mount. I've seen multiple replica mounts break or fail in the field causing damage to the NODs (even though they are fake and don't work in the first place.) I'd go with a milsurp Norotos Rhino mount over a replica. They cheaper and more available than the Evike ones anyways.

I don't think I've ever seen tan PVS-14s.

Or you could get some kind of functionality out of them.

This part isn't very useful in most airsoft games, but it is accurate since many parts of our military uses strobes on their helmets to IFF. G&P also makes a bb holder that looks like a strobe, but I can't seem to find one. This will also serve as a counter weight, when placed on the back of the helmet, and will help balance the NODs.

All that's left are patches and a head lamp and your are aesthetically set to go for milsim. Most of this in no wear near necessary for airsoft, but it looks cool, and that is the important part. ;)

If you want a really awesome, sexy looking helmet for a Navy SEAL impression, buy an Emerson or Dragonred Ops Core Ballistic Helmet, FMA Wilcox L4G24 Replica, EOG Counterweight Pouch, 2 V-Lites, MPLS Light, S&S Precision Manta Strobe, and either replica PVS15's or replica GPNVG18's. Here's a sample (I can't post the pics because they become deformed) http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?p=1678566

Just to clarify, this is in fact Exarch's personal helmet.
