If you don't mind that they're plastic and 30 rounds, which is already a big minus in my mind.  No personal experience with 'em though.  Get some and try 'em out and let us know.

They are plastic..... but thats alright if you treat your mags like crap anyways. Because they are $4.50 each.

yea for those of you who like to be realistic these would be perfect. 30 rounds and when you realease you can just let it fall to the ground

Hmm..think they are weighted enough to fall free? I have problems with CA mags not falling free from my old M4 and my SR16. Rick

I just let my mags drop anyways...... they are metal. They only thing I worry about when I do that is forgetting them.

There has to be empty space in there. Put a weight in it and your set. That, or replace it with a metal M16 magazine shell if thats possible.

EDIT: Couldnt you just tie 4 feet of paracord to the end of the magazine (if you have magpuls) so when you drop them, they get out of your way, but still are with you.
Title:
Post by: Solitary UDT on May 06, 2004, 10:15:41 PM
would you want 4 ft of paracord going from your body to all your mags hanging off your body? youd get all tangled up, it would catch on trees and plus you'd look pretty dumb

Post by: The Flying Dutchman on May 06, 2004, 10:17:51 PM
That would not work to good because if you have played a lot you would know that mags and cord attached to you dont work to good. To many cords would mean stuff would snag and you would be stuck in the bush. Trust me it just would not work out. You can go ahead and try it at a game for yourself if you want.. its just not for me for those reasons.

And the CA Mags are metal.......and putting a weight would work but he should just solve the problem and fix his mag release button.

I'm considering picking up a 10 pack.

For 40 bux, you can't go wrong!  I like the idea of being able to ditch them, and not worry about losing 20 bucks!

The outside is metal, the insides are plastic.  I hate to imagine what kind of stress/damage dropping them can do to the internal plastic parts.

I do the same, John.  Not for every change-out, but at least half the time.  While the metal is scratched to heck, the mags function just fine.  I keep them clean and lubed, and I've never had a misfire/malfunction as far back as I can remember.

I take them completely down periodically for inspection as well (when I clean them).

shipping is ungodly tho. for 10 mags shipping is 34 bucks. its only good if you buy like 20 or 30 mags at a time. i have been looking into this for about a week now.

I think Ron has them.

Looks like people wont have to worry about losing a magazine now! Plus, you can afford to carry a ****load in a backpack or back in your car.
Title:
Post by: Firehead on May 07, 2004, 03:43:48 PM
ron doesnt have them yet, but he is getting them. he is going to let he is going to test them out, and a few of his friends( i think, no guarantees) and if they work, order an assload more. i know i would buy about 20 of them, if they worked. i will talk to ron tonight and see how much they are going to cost a piece.

Title:
Post by: Firehead on May 07, 2004, 06:16:50 PM

Just wait til Ron gets them, then you can buy them individually from him instead of spliting a 10 pack up.

Do you guys like the fact that they are 30 rounders?  It adds to realism, but by the time you lose a few at the end of the mag, you only get 25 bb's or so, which will be gone really quick.
Title:
Post by: Raith on May 07, 2004, 07:38:00 PM
You lose 3 BBs in an M16 type weapon.
Title:
Post by: Firehead on May 07, 2004, 07:56:33 PM
yeah, that is my main concern with those mags. sorry about my shipping exageration, for some reason i thought boomarms was in hong kong( i think so) and there is another company( www.airsoft-war4.com (http://www.airsoft-war4.com)) that allows you to buy them by the box(10 per box) but shipping is an arm and a leg( 34 for one box). so i got them mixed up. yeah, its definitely worth it, i know i'm gunna buy 20 of them at least.

They'll probably calculate the $40 after. Or, just send them $40 through paypal and tell them it's because you're buying 10.

Maybe you should try 30 round mags or boomarms [V]

Are you one of those kind of people who like to hear themselves talk or in this case type?  You seem to have alot to say about nothing most of the time.

Sorry if I "Offended" You in anyway. But I will try your advice and buy some 30rds. I got a tactical vest that I just got. It will hold the Mags I think.

Yes and please do not inform us on every little new tad bit that you get either.  IE finding a spare bb in your closet or your newest pouch you got for your gear, we dont really need to know these things.

http://www.boomarms.com/sc/viewproductd ... ductID=729 (http://www.boomarms.com/sc/viewproductdetail.asp?ProductID=729)

30 round STAR M16 magazines for $4.50 each, or 10 magazines for $40. Anyone know if these are any good?
