Title: BOOYAH! (Eagle Industries MLCS CIRAS)
Post by: azsarge on April 26, 2005, 07:18:15 PM
What's that you say?  You want some sh*tty pics of the newest and best releaseable armor vest on the market?  Oh yeah, you mean the vest currently issued to the most badass doorkickers on the planet?

OK.  May I present the Eagle Industries Maritime Load Carriage System Combat Integrated Releaseable Armor System - Land Version (in Matt Johnson Khaki)

TA-DA!

Oh yeah, it's not mine.  SSSSSHH, don't tell anyone!

I'll let Raith post better pics and a description when he gets his hands on it! 8)

Nice, is the pals webbing as stiff as the ones on my RAID pack?

It's Mil-Spec webbing, like in all Eagle stuff.  Since it's the same color as your pack (MJK), I would imagine it's the exact same webbing.  You'll see it soon enough, and can find out for sure since I don't remember exactly what the RAID webbing feels like.

Dave, after the better pics and a brief description by Matt reach the forums, EVERYONE will want one.  I think the reason so many people aren't lusting after it by now is because they are simply not aware that it exists.  That's where us gear whore's come in!  It's Gear Awareness month, biotches! 8)   Bought a RAV and think it's the best?  Not anymore, mofo.  This thing has the RAV beat to a pulp.  It re-assembles in less than 3 minutes, versus the 3 years of the RAV.

Other than the waiting list, one disuading factor might be the price tag.  The retail is $564.  Worth every penny, but you know I can't pay retail for gear these days! ;)  (the CIRAS is still cheaper than the RAV, which retails for over 750, sans armor)

Will I get one?  Damn right.  I think I'll wait until I can get one in Ranger Green though.  Then again, maybe I'll just steal this one.

Yeah... The CIRAS is pretty sweet and I knew about it a few months ago FYI. I gotta say, that is some sexy shit. Is that Matt's?

Yes, this belongs to Raith.  I normally don't fingerbang other people sh*t before they get a chance to, but he's letting me since I bought it for him.  He just doesn't know about it yet. :P

Oh, what a treat for him to come home from his night classes and find pics of his rig laying on someone elses floor!

"Send the money or the vest gets it!"

Yeah he'll mind!

I can't justify spending this much for something I'd wear once a month for a few hours to play in, but I WILL be picking one up prior to deployment if I'm allowed to wear it.

In my opinion, every soldier should be equipped with releaseable armor.  There are several soldiers, Marines and airmen who would still be alive today had they been equipped with releaseable armor!

I showed it to a family member who is in the Army and just got back from Iraq.  He didn't really give two sh*ts until I said "watch this!" , yanked the cord, and the thing fell to the ground in pieces, at which point his interest piqued.  "That's a hell of an idea!" he said.

He's right.

Hush that noize, Big John!  I wore more than that at LC3 and did fine.  Hector I ran more than anyone on the field!  It is mesh-lined on the inside, which is cooler than the RAVs Cordura.

We all know you hate gear, John. :P

Umm...
A)  I already said it was a Land Version
B)  If you have one sitting right there (like you just said) you would know which version it is.
C)  They don't come in CB, only OD and Khaki like this one.
D)  Nicer than the RAV?  Different yes, but the RAV is by no means a POS in comparison.

Do you care to clarify what you said before I "continue"?

PS, how about some pics of your kit, snowball?  ;)

Maritime Load Carriage System (MLCS) is the system the CIRAS is a part of.

But you already know that because your rig came with all that nifty paperwork and brochures like this one.  Right, dude?

Get yourself one of these...

Point-Blank Interceptor OTV. I got one at no cost complete with ceradyne ceramic plates front and back. Good to have friends in war zones. Seems whenever a unit goes home they just leave most of their s*** in the desert or give it away. Because of that I've got a near endless supply of free desert bdu pants, desert altama boots, some knives, Ballistic Kevlar Helmet, Tanker's Helmet/Headset, a gas mask (had some full atropene auto-injectors with it when I got it, had to dispose of those), an active charcoal-lined chem-bio suit... All free.

Not true, real soldiers all over iraq and kuwait wear this s*** alot. Every time an alarm goes off they are required to put on helmets and armor till the all-clear is sounded, of course the alarm only goes off AFTER the terrorists shoot their mortars into the base (which happens daily). Also any time a soldier (or civilian contractor) is off-base they are required to wear it, fun huh?

[smilie=armata_pdt_19.gif] You might NOT want to advertise that.  What you have was wrongfully appropriated.  I'll leave it at that, the next move is yours!

As far as getting one?  I have one, the difference is I got mine the right way, and I have to give it back when I'm done.

You also might want to learn to better detect sarcasm!  If you though Airsofter1 was serious, you need to stick arlound a little longer and figure things out.

THAT, and the CIRAS is years ahead of the non-releaseable interceptor.

:P   Probably not.  I've never had the pleasure of working with the Israelis, but I will be in October.  There designs in gear are "different" to say the least, but I suppose they come from a fair ammount of feedback from the troops.  That said, I care for Israeli gear.
