Good thing I got a more expensive pack than most people's gats for this one.

I'm on whatever team you want me on.

Good luck with that man.  Well, i'm down for Insurgents.  Civilian clothing, huh?  So... i can where like Dickies, a white T, and adidas... with a hat instead of BDU's?  That would be kinda cool...

Bruuda, don't wear a WHITE T.. Helpful suggestion.

Title: Non-Coms'
Post by: Phyrst on March 01, 2006, 06:11:51 PM
My Daughter will be down from Durango, Colorado the weekend of this game.  She has been interested in Airsoft since I began playing with just friends, yet has never played.  She is 18 and trying to enroll in a police academy.

If I can get her to commit to playing then I will figure out what I gotta do to get her in the game.(like getting her armed).

My question is this:

Would having non-combatants running around the AO observing and such cause a problem?  Of course I would get them to sign waivers and get them goggled up.

I ask this because she is only down for the weekend and I doubt that she will commit a whole day to actually playing but I think she would love to come out and check it out for a few hours.

If this would pose any problems to the game then I would rather not.

I ask you all first.  If its a problem then I will not even suggest it to her.

Thanks & Be Well,
Phyrst

Not a problem Phyrst, We have camera guys/gals at events, If she wants to play great or if she just wants to watch great I can bring a orange vest for her.

Just make sure she has
1. eye wear, sealed preferred
2  water

Hey Phryst, it would not be a problem.  Just follow Gix's advice so she is properly prepared.  Let me know for sure if she decides to come, I'll charge up the battery to the AA rental AK so its ready to go if she whats to shoot you later ;)

Well, my daughter canceled her trip.

But on the upside, I'm in for green/US.   8)

I can give rides if any need one.  I have 2 empty seats left in my APC.  Maybe 3.  I may be +1 but not sure.

Also, what is the camping like there?  I may decide to camp over night.  I assume that fire bans are in effect.  Any that are familiar with the area a heads-up would be would be most appreciated.

Lastly, what is the Quadrangle Name for the USGS?   I wanna get a map.

Be Well,
Phyrst

Roster added to first post.

If you're not on it, send me a PM.

Note that ACU, MultiCam, etc will be placed on whatever team is short players.  However, all like patterns will be on the same team (ie all ACU on Green, all MC on Tan or vise versa).

So be sure to let me know what pattern you will be wearing if it's not straight Tan or Green.

In case any of you were wondering about the $5 fee, I am working on getting a HMMWV (possibly 2) out to this game.  Diesel fuel isn't free.

Yes, these are actual military HMMWVs ("humvees").

They will be used in the scenarios, and will be transporting players to and from the FOBs.

Hey, anyone have an extra headset/mic-setup they wouldn't mind lending out during this game? I have a buddy who's coming back with me for Spring Break who's never played and will be at the game. I have an extra AEG for him (and probably a motorola radio), but not an extra mic-setup. I'm not really able to pick one up before then, either (no, not because I'm lazy. Its a long complicated answer, so if you really want to know, PM me). I believe that motorola frs take the single prong connection. Again, doesn't have to be anything fancy. I just want to give him the "full experience" as it'll be his first time airsofting. That being said, I'll even make a deposit if you like in case it somehow ends up broken. Thanks all and I'm looking forward to be back with the AZ crew!

Anyone got an xtra gun that i can possibly use?  I'll probably only use my AK for the first round (usually do cuz then i realize that my AK just won't cut it... yet).  Also, my M9 has a crack on the slide so i'm getting a metal one for it.  However, i won't have the part until the 27th or later.  I was only planning on using the M9 when i truly needed it, to reduce the chance of breaking it even more!  The safety barely works.  I have my own bb's, and have my own STD AK mags.  So if someone has an AK or a Beta Spetz, that would be great.   Sorry for askin' this question (i'm sure you would expect me to have my own gun)... but i need to save money so i can repair the m9, and upgrade the AK.

Thanks,
Art-

Bad News!

I just spoke with the HMMWV driver, and he will not be able to make it to the game this weekend.  He is a soldier in my Battallion, and will be busy organizing for our units' mobilization to Ft. Hood.

Sorry folks.

If anyone would like to donate the $5 anyway, it will be placed in an AA funds pot for props, and for such future occasions as HMMWVs or other vehicles.  It will be a donation, and is no longer required for attendance to this event.

If the scenarios were involving the use of vehicles, I'm sure we can do it like we did back in the days at BT. I'd be down for using my truck.

To me, owned if getting stuck driving one in the shitbox.  So, in that sense, you might be correct.

If any of you want to bail because you can't ride around in an Army vehicle, that's cool.

For scenarios, we had different types planned.  To be honest, we never got around to planning a scenario around the use of vehicles, but rather planned on simply incorporating them into existing scenarios.

Y'know, I'll be there in my desert brown Jeep CJ-7, and I can take the fabric top off and fold the windshield down on the hood.

Is that "military vehicle" enough for the game, Christian?

I'm still down, an gonna be +1 for green.  :D

I still have one seat left in the Jeep APC if anyone in the North Phoenix area needs a lift.

I will use my vehicle for a prop if needed.

Last week when there was SNOW, there were plenty of civics and little cars rolling right on past. Snows melted now, you should do fine. Not sure if theres rivers to cross, its a new AO to me.

Dust helps the camo blend in better ;)

IIRC there shouldn't be much that should hinder your movement regardless of automobile.

One more reminder for everyone to bring a RED RAG and a radio!

Also, it's getting warmer, and that means 3 things:
-You'll drink more water, so pack accordingly
-There is a greater chance of encountering wildlife such as snakes
-GBBs will work better :P

Well, my friend can't play, who was gonna be my +1.  He hurt his back  .  Prolly happened at the exact time I posted he would be there.  :x

He may come out and walk the field and take pictures if he is up to it.  You will be able to tell him from other hikers cause he will be wearing goggles and have a red rag on his head.

The reason for this post is cause I have never played at this AO and my forces may be nowhere near the parking area.  Just wanted to give the Tan team a heads up.  I know that Sten Gun, and DeathbyDanish have met him.  He played out at Picketpost MT.  So keep an eye out guys, please!

Be Well, and see Yas on the morrow!!
