This will be the first in a series of essays on the concept of far sportsmanship and equal rights for all airsoft players.

The First Amendment to the US Constitution provides everyone with the freedom of speech against regulation by others. So if we post something on a public board and it does not violate the rules of that board i.e. posting abusive or Offensive material or language then that post should be allowed to stay on the public board even if one person or a small number in a group do not like it. If one person does not like what has been posted and he/she has the power i.e. Moderator, to remove the post would that not be mass censorship over the rest of the airsoft community. Most public board have rules as to what a Moderator can remove, Going off topic, or posting abusive or Offensive material but not one of the boards has rule that if a moderator does not like what the post has to say he can remove it. Then how about if the moderator is personal involve in the post. Should he/she not step back and not tack a stand on the post, to not cause a conflict of interest. What if the post has implication of wrong doing or improprieties by that person or the group that person is a member of. What if that same person is a moderator on the board and removes the post, does that not show that he/she may be guilty of what was stated in the post or the group that they are member of.


Now lets talk about the concept of equal rights and far sportsmanship.
All or most airsoft team’s and fields have rules, rules for safety rules for far play, we all live in a world of rules but are they all created to be equal for all and when we impose them do we do that is in a manner that is far and equal to all?
Also if someone holds a higher possession i.e. Team leader, do we hold them to a higher accountability and higher set of rules and punishment. I would think so, the team leaders are the ones that set positive examples for the team members and help to mold a positive experience and far and wholesome values for young and new players.

Now lets talk about incidents and what punishment would be far to all player in both of the two that I will talk about.

The first one we will look at is a shooting of one player by ten other players and what happen and what punishment came of it and who should have been held responsible for the incident. One player went to the top of a hill with the idea that he would be part of a game that had him as the bad guy along with 2 other player as his body guards, all three made it to the top of the hill. After that five other players went up as part of the game to hunt this one person down, just after they made it to the top of the hill shooting started. During this time three other players made the walk up to the top of the hill to see everyone shooting at one person, just a note during this time the person was armed with a pistol. He ran forward and into the three new players who had set up a ambush, they fired at him as he came at them with his pistol raised in hand. As he was fire on by the ambush party he turned and ran at others on the field after that point everyone was firing at each other, you would call it a free for all. What came of this incident? Well all that had a part said we are sorry and all chipped in for a bag of BB’s for the one player that was the target of the game. Two players ended up with a punishment of missing two games, a few got just one game and a number of then did not get a thing, even the guy who shot the play in the back from less the 5Ft got off with out being punished. After the entire player was ok and said that missing game was to much for a punishment. The sad point of this is that the two players that got the punishment of missing two games had the lest to do with the shooting and made it up late to the start of the game.

So now onto number two. Shooting players in the back. After being hit a player started to walk off the field but turned and shot to teen players in the back. I would say that act was vishes and yellow to shot two players that did not know that they would be shot be someone who was out, but did not like that fact or know that he was a poor sportsman.
This same person was a team leader that was over three of the persons involved in the first incident , he was also quick to judge them and pass punishment on them. When one of then stepped up and tried to tell him what happen, he said “ I know all I need to knowâ€￾. How could he unless he was part of what happen, well hear say is how and the spread of lies by others. So now back to what he did, he shoots two teen players in the backs, two players that did not know that this would happen. So this player said hey I screwed up I should miss a game, but I will still come to take photo’s for my team website. That such a hard punishment, one game and he will still come to take photos. Should he as a team leader get a more harsh punishment or maybe get kick off the field.

Well I asked this same thing, and what answers did I get. I was told I could not come and play on there field and could no longer post on the airsoft board.

Every time I ask why things are not far or what happen, they punish me, well sorry to tell them. But as I said in one of my first post I would not come back to that field. But now if you start a public board is that not for everyone to use, unless they break the boards rules or can anyone who does not like what you have to say, can then kick you off that board. Makes me think that maybe the truth hurts and they do not want to hear it, sad thing is they say its lies, then why do I hear from others about how bad things are and how its all become a joke and that a number of player have boycotted the games.
