I was just going to let all the comments pass, but to Mike's dismay, that's not going to happen.  For those who enjoy a good read, pull up a chair and grab you some sippin' lemonade, as I've got some spare time on my hands seeing I'm stuck at home sick, with nothing better to do than entertain all these negative comments.  Why so much negativity out there!?! Girlfriend been giving you the cold shoulder?

First off, DirtyKorean, let me respond to your loss of patronage. As airsoft revenue for the field equates to 2% of total yearly revenues and 98% of our revenue is generated by our tactical training portion of our business, there's no real loss there, so everyone can clearly see where you fit into the financial side of things. Airsoft is considered the hobby side of what we do. We do this for fun, with people we enjoy doing it with.

As for Paradox, please do explain about changing the post and the terrible ways I treated people. If you mean yelling at people for breaking safety rules and game rules, you're damn right I yelled at them. And I'll do it again.  See, when you come to play at our field, you have a chance to read all the rules upfront, and then we go over them verbally at the safety briefing and game briefing. And then if you still don't understand, we give you a chance to ask questions and we answer your concerns.  If you're not adult enough to understand and listen to what we have to say, then you are a liability and I have to yell at you like a small child in order to get your attention and to get you to stop what you are doing before any significant damage is done.  People's lack of respect for the rules can endanger/affect other people and their event experience and that is unacceptable as a land owner and field supervisor.

As for my original "terrible" comments, they are all there for people to read and see. If you like, I can expand on my thoughts and tell you what I really think. I've edited and modified it to make it more elaborate and fix any grammatical errors. That really bugs me. The only comments I've deleted are the comments about the Hakkotsu Hades Arrow Airsoft Mortar Launcher as I am trying to promote our new element to future events rather than letting you hijack our thread to promote your personal vendetta.

As far as charging customers $20 before, and $40 the day of the event, people were given two months to register early for free. Originally, I was going to charge everybody $20 for the event, but I decided to throw one last big OP as HWG to say thank you to many of the people who have supported us in the past and get a player count of 100 people.  Also, little known fact, my brother Mike asked me to cancel the event because he didn't think a free event was worth our time, and I told him I was going to do it because I wanted run at least one OP where we got 100 participants and I was hoping to achieve that goal by enticing people who have never been out to our field because we charge money.  I was hoping they would see the value of what we have and would encourage them to attend future Marauders Adventure Group events.

The only reason I started charging, was to offset some of the costs as things started to add up for props, supplies, the extra restroom facility, the 5 trips I made out there prior to the game to repair the field from the $1000 in storm damage so that everyone could experience the field the way it was intended to be experienced, and the fact that it looked like we were going to be well over 100 participants and I wanted to make sure we didn't exceed 120 due problems stemming from too many people attending.

Total revenues for the airsoft game last weekend were just under $300. That came from $200 in admission fees, $20 in donations, $40 in rentals, and $40 in gear sales.  So, maybe now you understand that I run these games for the fun of it at a financial loss, while trying to maintain a safe and enjoyable experience for the majority of the good hearted, well intentioned participants who come out to our field who give us almost no problems and I thoroughly appreciate their patronage.  The troublemakers and rabble rousers such as yourself can go to hell.

Now please do move on and stop trampling all over this thread about a event you don't plan on coming to.

On another note, we will be deploying this nifty little toy at the event...Hakkotsu Hades Arrow Airsoft Mortar Launcher!  Mortar flies anywhere from 100 to 300 feet. We will be testing it out this weekend and trying to figure out how to incorporate into the game.  We don't expect to be firing it at people. Probably we will be targeting buildings or vehicles as part of mission objective.

Event will run from 8am to 4pm. Ages 18 and up.

May I suggest that airsoft is really not the activity for you, especially not at our field due to its remoteness. As for the snark remark, please understand that your original post smacks of sarcasm and works to undermine the efforts and concepts that Mike and I have thoughtfully and carefully designed into our events. Thanks for your support, but with a post like that, who needs enemies!

As the title of our new endeavor implies, Marauders Adventure Group, is about living out an adventure utilizing airsoft equipment as one of the many means of having an outdoor combat experience. If our events were about winners and losers, the name of the new company would probably be Marauders Competitive Airsoft Games...

Marauders Adventure Group is intended to provide participants a military simulation adventure for customers who appreciate a higher level of "game" design, sophistication, props, special effects, use of vehicles, so that no matter the outcome of the event, they truly come away with an experience that they would not typically find a regular airsoft venue.  This event is not intended for the typical AA player, but rather someone who is looking for something bigger and more complex, something to challenge, yet reward them for taking their "game" to the next level of military simulation.  I  must stress this over and over again, as Marauders Adventure Group is not for the weak, inexperienced, half-hearted airsoft player, but rather someone who longs to do something more than just Death Match, Capture the Flag, Attackers vs Defenders...

Chip to answer your questions:

A. This is not a game.  This is a mil-sim adventure allowing participants to play various roles based upon a historic battle.
B. The event is not rigged.  Participants must engage each other in mock combat using airsoft equipment where hits count. If you fail to hit your enemies, I am sure they will impede your progress.
C. Nobody will win this mil-sim adventure. Winning is for games like football or baseball. Depending upon various factors, such as the skill level, intensity, team work, etc...either faction has the potential to be successful in accomplishing their objectives.
D. The objective  for the Rangers is to complete a set of tasks.
E. The objective for the OPFOR is to provide resistance against the Rangers.
F. If the rangers fail to complete their objectives, they will be given another opportunity to retry if time allows.
G. If winning is important to you, may I suggest DO NOT attend this event as you will be sorely disappointed, as  most of the attendees will be busy having fun running through a set of missions trying to accomplish their goals while being shot at while you are busy chasing your tail trying to figure out how to win this darn event.  May I suggest you attend some other venue where winning is important and everything else is secondary.

Also, if winning is important to  you, why didn't you show up to Operation Vigilant Resolve? There were plenty of opportunities for you to win at this event.  You were one of the first people to sign up for that "game" and yet I didn't even get a courtesy cancellation from you.  You left the other insurgents high and dry, which pretty much helped sabotage the dynamics of the game, but you are really good at that, so I wouldn't expect any less from you.  I don't even know why your asking questions about an event that costs money, because I really doubt you'd show up, given you don't even bother to show up to a free one.

I'd like to thank everyone who took the time to come out today and play in our last big public game as Havoc War Games. Unfortunately, we only had about 60 total participants, with the Marines out numbering the insurgents by about 4 to 1.  Apparently the insurgency is weak and many saw the impending battle as doomed from the get go, so they didn't bother to show up and get massacred.  Maybe it was the heat. 83 degrees is just to hot for some people.

Personally, I had a blast working with the Marine's during Mission 1 as we marched down the road towards Fallujah as we were ambushed along the way by the insurgents who put up a remarkable fight. At some points along the way, the Marines got bogged down by the intensity of the ambushes.  Eventually, the Marines pulled it together and were able to overrun the last stronghold before steam rolling there way into the outskirts of Fallujah.

Mission 2, with the targeted assaults didn't really pan out how I envisioned it, as the urban combat was harder to navigate and control, as the insurgents generally managed to repel most of the Marines' forays into the town.

Who knows what happened to Mission 3? Must have taken off with the insurgents who didn't show up...

Well that concludes our endeavor with Havoc War Games.  If you want to rent the field for a private event, you can still contact us at havocwargames@gmail.com to reserve the field for your own private party.  Future open games for the public with be run by Marauders Tactical Training.  Visit their new web site www.maraudersadventuregroup.com to get details for their first public game:  Warfighter - Somalia December 7th.  Tickets are available for purchase at Sector9 airsoft store and Vanguard Indoor Playground.  You can also buy tickets for future games at most of the major gun shows as MTT typically has a table and tickets available for sale.  Ziggy and I will still be around, but mostly just playing in the future games letting the staff of MTT handle all the game control.  We hope to see you in the future especially the guys and gals that came all the way from Tucson, Yuma, and Sierra Vista. You're teams seemed pretty squared away and are great example of what airsoft can be!

Please read and understand event information and rules before coming to the game.

I have made a minor update to hit rules for the Marines in Mission 1 and the first phase of Mission 2:

Mission 1 - Marines should try push up the road fighting insurgents along the way until they reach the area near the southwestern corner of The Sandbox which will be clearly marked with a red flag on wooden post.  As Marines advance, squad leaders will carry a spear with an American flag to mark their advance (there will be 4 squad leaders for Alpha, Bravo, Charlie and Delta squads).  Insurgents can never advance past the Marines’ flags whether it be held by a squad leader or if it’s planted in the ground.  Staff and Marines should ensure the flag stays upright and visible when planted. When carrying the flag, it should remain upright and visible. It is the squad leader’s responsibility to maintain the flag upright and visible when carrying it and moving. Insurgents cannot move the Marines flag or knock it over. Only Marines may move the flag. Both Marines and Staff can replant the flag if it falls over.

In order to get back into the game, Marines who get hit during Mission 1 will have two options to get back into the game.

Option 1: Go back to the nearest quarter mile sign behind you on your way to Fallujah in order to get back in the game.  If your are not past the first quarter mile sign, then you should return to the big wash to re-insert.

Option 2: Go back to YOUR squad leader if he is still alive and carrying the flag or has it planted in the ground. Once you tag in with your squad leader, you may re-insert into the game defensively for the next minute.  Defensively means you must take a knee or go prone and remain stationary. After waiting a minute you are now free to get up and go on the offensive again.  If the squad leader gets hit, he has to take the flag and retreat to the nearest quarter mile marker behind him to re-insert into the mission.  Therefore, it is in a squad’s best interest to keep the squad leader alive in order to keep their re-insertion point near the action.  Hint: Keep the squad leader near the back of the action to reduce the possibility of losing your squad leader and your ability to re-insert quickly.

For the first phase of this mission (Encirclement) - In order to get back into the game, Marines who get hit during the first phase of Mission 2 need to fall back to YOUR squad leader if he is still alive and carrying the flag or has it planted in the ground (there will be 4 squad leaders for Alpha, Bravo, Charlie and Delta squads). Once you tag in with your squad leader, you may re-insert into the game defensively for the next minute. Defensively means you must take a knee or go prone and remain stationary. After waiting a minute you are now free to go on the offensive again.  If the squad leader gets hit, he has to fall back 150 feet (about 50 paces). Therefore, it is in a squad’s best interest to keep the squad leader alive in order to keep their re-insertion point near the action.  Hint: Keep the squad leader near the back of the action to reduce the possibility of losing your squad leader and your ability to re-insert quickly. Squad leaders (or any Marine) should never enter Fallujah for the first phase of mission 2.

Why the use of flags?  The flags represent order and control. Keep your squad leader alive and your flag near, and your team fights more effectively. Lose your squad leader to a hit, your squad's effectiveness diminishes due to the chaos and failure of losing your leader.

A quick reminder, if you plan on attending Operation Vigilant Resolve but haven't registered yet, you must do so by October 31st to get in for the $20 discounted admission price at www.havocwargames.com.  After early registration closes, the only way to get into the game is to pay $40 the day of during check in.

A couple of quick notes...

Due to the number of expected guests, I'm asking for people to try to arrive by 8AM so we have more than enough time to get everyone through the check in process and stay on the planned schedule.

I will also be switching over to the Marines as embedded staff to help keep the team on their mission task.  My brother Ziggy and Kriss Long from MTT will be embedded with the insurgents to help guide them in their mission task.

Drew Warner from MTT will be assigned to safety and monitoring the staging area by the big wash while the event is in progress. Please follow any directions from him or any our embedded staff before, during, and after the event so that we may have a safe and enjoyable experience.

I will also be relying on Chuck and his team mates from the Shadow Vipers to assist with chrono.  Please follow their directions at all times. If your gun is malfunctioning at chrono, step away from the station and allow the other participants to chrono their guns while you work on yours.

If you have any gun issues or gear malfunctions, our staff WILL NOT be able to assist you.  Please rely on your friends, team mates, and other participants for help regarding these issues.  I hope you understand that this will be a large event and we cannot allow our staff to be distracted from carrying out our assigned responsibilities.

13
We will allow smoke grenades but they can only be thrown outside of buildings.

On a side note, I had two people withdraw from the game, and there are  now 2 spots opened up on the insurgents. If anyone wants to switch teams from the Marines, I will let the first two people who post on AA that they want to switch, move over to the insurgents.

14
The official game packet email has been sent out to registered participants that I have email addresses for.  Please take a look and make sure you can open the documents.  Please forward to team mates especially if you signed up a bunch of your friends so that as many people of have the game packet and familiarize themselves with it as possible.

The 1st Battle of Fallujah will be Havoc War Games last public airsoft event as we plan on focusing the company's energy on serving customers who want to host their own private parties or have our staff design and run an event at The Sandbox for them.

Future public airsoft adventures will now be run by the staff of Marauders Tactical Training. Adventures will be 1, 2, and 3 day events once a month through fall, winter, and spring. For more information, go to www.MaraudersAdventureGroup.com
