General Airsoft Discussion / Has "Airsoft Items Wanted" become pointless???
« on: September 22, 2003, 02:55:39 AM »
After reading what HammersHeroAZ posted about "******USED AEG WANTED*****" ( http://www.airsoftarizona.com/forums/to ... IC_ID=2006 ), and seeing what Paco had said about his post being "really pointless", I feel that the Airsoft Items Wanted section may be pointless itself.

It looks like Hammers is looking for an AEG in a certain price range and didn't find it a "decent working gun" in the For Sale section. Within 24hrs, Paco had shot down Hammers for posting what he did and then locked the thread. Maybe the 100+ people who viewed the Wanted Used Aeg post would agree with what Paco had said, but I not only feel that Paco was rude to Hammers, but that by saying what he did about the post contradicted what the section is all about.

Hammers is looking for a gun at around $225 and didn't find one that he liked in the For Sale section. For Hammers to post in the Airsoft Items Wanted section seems quite practical to me. For example: Maybe I am contemplating whether or not I should sell my MP5 and have not posted anything on AA, but then I see that Hammers is looking for a good used AEG for a good price. This might look like a good deal to me, so now I decide to sell it even though I never posted it on the For Sale posting. Isn't the Wanted section for this very thing? Or maybe I know of another forum that has a larger ammount of people selling their guns. I'm sure Hammers is still looking around, but maybe he will never find this forum that I know of. But now that he posted his "used aeg wanted" post, I can inform him of this other forum. Both scenarios seem quite possible to me.

Hammers, if someone had one to sell, they may or may not post in the classifieds listed for sale. Therefore, this post (your post) is really practical. If you can't find a gun you want that's listed for your price, I'm sorry (because people won't be able to reply to your post since it is locked). You know, I am sure that you would save up a bit more money if you were looking to pay more, but you're not right? I am also pretty sure that you are looking in other areas than just the AA forums... like other forums or ebay, so for me to tell you to keep looking would in reality be a bit pointless.
I hope that Paco hasn't dissuade you from using the forums though (AA is a great place for airsofters), but I am sorry... it looks like the Wanted section isn't for you to post that you WANT an airsoft gun.

Just remember Hammers... if you are looking to buy a used gun and you can't find one in the For Sale section that is right for you, then there still may be someone on AA who has your dream gun to sell but has not posted it.

General Airsoft Game Discussion / IDEAS FOR SCHEDULING AIRSOFT GAMES
« on: September 20, 2003, 10:10:46 AM »
Because of the recent turnouts for our non-AA games and the fact that we frequently have almost twice as many people saying that they will go and then not showing as we do people who actually go, I have decided to post some ideas for scheduling games.

I first think that we should try to start scheduling games 3 weeks in advance. A good way to do this could be to post a poll asking who would be interested in attending a game held on that date. I feel that a poll would be an organized way of doing it since just normal posting always gets off-topic.

Next, depending on how many people are interested and if we feel that the game should continue, another poll could be created a week prior to the game asking who exactly is coming and how many people they are bringing. Then people can post on that forum with specific info.

Also, The person who is setting up the game should get contact info from people who are supposed to come. If I knew that people were going to be calling me up if I didn't show, I would be more inclined to keep people informed of my status.

Please post any comment or ideas.

General Airsoft Game Discussion /
« on: September 20, 2003, 09:29:57 AM »
Boondock and I drove out together and had to make a last minute stop in Scottsdale. We didn't get out to fountain hills until 7:00AM, so we drove to BT to meet up with everyone. Not only was BT packed and our normal field was taken, but we couldn't find anyone from the game. I know that we sometimes have people meet up late, but I was concerned since we had so little people. once 9:00AM rolled around, we figured that the game was either cancelled or the game was going on at a different area of BT. I will be posting an idea that I have to resolve this issue and possibly to help insure that people are actually going to come.
