Airsoft Items FOR SALE / Testing the waters.....
« on: September 10, 2008, 08:35:22 PM »
Wow its been a while since Ive been on the forums lol. I like the new layout.  8)

Anyho, I don't play as much airsoft as I used to (been pretty inactive for the past couple of years) so Im thinking of downsizing my collection a bit. Also would be nice to get a little $$ on the side to spend on my newest hobby. Kind of wish I stayed with airsoft in a way lol 4x4s are sooo much more exp to build than an aeg. Would also consider trade for real steel. Heres what I got/thinking of selling:

-Marui psg1

Ive used this gun in maybe two games. Ill bet its had less than 600 rnds through it and most of them were at birds in the backyard. I hollowed out the stock at one point (removed adjustment gear for cheekpiece) to fit a a custom 9.6 nunchuck. If I can find the battery for it ill throw it in too. It shot really good with this battery and trigger resonse was quick. Gearbox may need to be relubed because it been leaning in the closet since I used it last. I put a systema 120 in when I first got it it but Its been in there for a couple of years so theres no telling what it still shoots at. Comes with stock scope and 15rnd stock mag. -Make me an offer

-Marui m1a1 Thompson.

This is my second thompson I bought a couple of years ago. Its not my old beloved one that all you guys remember me using but one I later bought from an AA member. The gearbox may be stock or it may have a 120 in it. Not sure I ever cracked open the gearboxk though I may have. I dont think Ive put more than 1k thorugh it. It runs good, and feeds flawlessly. Somewhere down the road I swapped the upper reciver and barrel from my old thompson on it so theres a bit of fading on the bluing and the hopup rubber may need to be replaced. If anyone is interested let me know and ill swap the original upper back onto it. Dont have a battery that will fit it if I remember I would use the battery from my old thompson with it. I have several standard mags and a couple midcaps (shorties) that I may let a couple go with it. -$250

-Hudson m3a1 grease gun

This I converted to run on green gas/propane. It has taken a couple of spills in its lifetime so some of it is held together with superglue, but it still shoots. Not the most acurate gun out there but it is fun to shoot. The mag leaks but im assuming you can get new orings. Not sure if it was the valve or the seal between the top/bottom half. It dosent like to feed budget bbs due to the mag design and work best with KWAs or other good brands, and it shoots about 400 or so with .23s and green gas. It has a special buffer bar machined and attached to to back of the bolt to keep the green gas from cracking the bolt from the added force. Havent messed with it in a while so Ill have to take a look at it and see what esle is up with it. - $125 OBO

-GBB Tananka p08 luger.

This gun works well with 134a but will shoot alright with green when its not hot out. There is a bit of the back part of the toggle broken off but this dosent affet the function of the pistol at all, and it still shoots fine. I havet shot it in a couple of years but I remember that the bottom of the mag would leak periodically. It has real walnut p08 grips on it that I modified to fit and they look and feel beautiful. Has really neat "toggle" gas blowback action just like the real thing and is a blast to shoot. Last time I remember using it at a game was LCIV. I did once use it in a florence game and shot lightningman right in the glasses lol. Makes a good sidearm if youre going for somting a little unique.  8) - $150 OBO

-X2 10.8 large batteries. Cant remember what MaH they are but damn are they big and can really crank a gearbox over. I got them from gdaqb a while ago and they were too big to fit in any of my guns. Ive maybe charged each of them twice. -SPF

I have some other stuff I may want to get rid of but still cant remember all of what I have. I do have a custom AEG system I was working on to make an AEG out of a 1919a4 parts kit. Hade it about %90 finished when I lost interest and decided to make a semi auto out of the parts kit.

Pics to come. If you guys remember that I had somthing 'way back in the day let me know if youre interesed and Ill seee if I still have it. BAR is off limits for now lol.

Lead has gone way up. So has copper.

The sign in fron of PD (phelps dodge) copper mine has almost doubled its numbers in the past few months. (we do alot of work for them so I see it alot)

Last month I could buy a bag of #7 shot for about $16. Now im lucky to find one for under $30.

Believe it or not, the price of 12ga is really down. I can now buy a case of loaded no.8 for 10 bucks less than it would cost me to load it all. Last season it got down as much as $2.99 a box. Now, about $3.35 seems to be the lowest I can find. But thats still way cheaper than I could load it.

Andy, are you set up for .223? Or are you just doiing pistols. I reload .223, .308, '06 and .30-30 religiously. Once you get set up and going its pretty fast and easy. I think I may have an extra set of .223 dies and a lube pad if you want for cheap. Projectiles are cheap too. Ebay has great huge lots of SS109 APs, Tracers, noslers, and LC bullets. Ive got good load data, and high twist rate loads too. Plus, the brass is practially free. "Range scrounging" I call it. :)

I have two of them.

A year or so ago, I made that same mod to one, although slightly better done. More solidly built, with the slot at the top side of the gearbox as not to weaken the piston rack. The pisyon in mine was fully connected to the faux bolt and didnt have to rely on the forward thrust of the whimpy bolt spring.

I ended up taking it out eventually. It got annoying after a while really, and I thought it was kind of cheesey with the bolt only moving halfway back.

White slings were mainly for parade issue and look really pretty, but if its the original sling thats still on there, I'd probably stay with that.

If you want to make it more of a collectors item, you can get all of the original accessories like the brass oil bottles, cleaning rods, brushes ect..

I have a no.1 MkIII .303 lee enfield with an original oiler, sling, cleaning kit, bandolier, and even a WWI dated canteen and helmet. I keep it as a display in my room. I love to see other enfield lovers drool at all of it when they see it. :D

The .577s are the more desierable of the two.

Have it cleaned up carefully, and checked to see if its safe to fire. (even if you dont plan on it, but it never hurts to be too safe). I dont know anyone in the scottsdale area, but there are a bunch of guys I know down here that can do it.

Look for missing pins and screws and have them replaced. Most are pretty common and are available at numerous places. Also,
www.ima-usa.com has authentic and reproduction white martini slings. They really bring the rifle out when its on. Brilliant white just ads that oh so british touch to any english military rifle.

and old, fucking OLD rifles.  Like, black powder old.

OOO!!

Is is possible for you to elaborte? Im a big blackpowder collector, and would love to see what you come across. Id gladly throw some good bucks your way for a piece of history!

Ill send you a pm when I get a chance man.

Babybackribs: DO NOT use any type of rust remover on that rifle if you want to keep any of the collector value that it still has. Many people think that refinishing an antique gun will increase its collectors value, but in actuallity it will decrease it considerably. Do not take the rust off down to the bare metal. Believe it or not there is still some patina left under that rust. WD40 and steel wool is the best thing to use. NEVER use sandpaper or abrasive to clean rust off a gun, EVER.

Martini henrys have gone up quite consierably in value recently, and yours is in not too bad of shape cnsidering where it was stored. The early long lever tyes are worth more than the short lever models, and yours appears to be of the short types. But the conversion from the .577 martini to the .303 leaves a little of the value behind. Almost all of these were done so to before the adoption of the lee enfield rifle, and ones with out this are rare and even more desierable.

Enjoy it and take good care of it. It will last you a lifetime, and hopefully your childeren's/grandchinldren's/ect..

I wish I had a nice springfield 1903A3, have not found one yet.

Dittos here

A little gunshop down here had a 30-40 kraig for $325 that I was eyeing really closely. But when I finally decided to go down and get it, it had already walked away. Ah man...  But thats where I did find my 1902 colt. Check the prices on THOSE! I got mine for $525! I couldnt contain my excitement!

Ebay man.

8 to 15 bucks is the norm for standard woodland/desert pants. Ripstop or standard.

Throw in about 5 bucks shipping (less if you buy in bulk) per pair, and youve got a deal worth shakin a stick at.

Just look at this....

http://cgi.ebay.com/Lot-of-Woodland-Cam ... dZViewItem

I bought 10 alice packs for a little over 60 bucks on ebay once. Still dont have a use for all of them, but for $60 I couldnt resist.

Surplus goes for cheap on ebay.

A beautiful trio you've got there. 8)  I've been eyeing the Norinco 87W, myself, but (until now) I haven't heard any firsthand opinions of it.  It seems like you're pleased with yours, so I may go ahead and pick one up in the near future (after I get done paying off the Rem 1100 I just put on layaway).  Thanks for posting those. :D

Sorry for the late follow up, I havent been visiting the forums much recently. :)

Anyway,

If you are looking into a norinco 1887,  I would go for it.  I got mine almost a year ago, when they were just starting to gain some popularity and the newer and slightly improved ones just started to hit the market.

First thing you can do when you get it is to throw away that ugly leather protector wound around the bottom of the lever.  It does nothing but get in the way. Once its off, it makes the gun look a world more authentic, and makes it alot easier to manipulate the action.

But one thing you must be aware of, is that the actions are slightly rough out of the box. And when I say "slightly" I mean Chinese rough. :) But all you'll need to fix this is a little emery cloth or sandpaper, and some elbow grease. If you do decide to give into temptation and buy one, I can give you an overview of what needs polishing and where. And after you polish up the action bits, its like a whole other gun. SMOOTH and CRISP.

One of my favorite aspects of this shotgun, is that it probably has maybe 8 moving parts. Period. Its such a simple yet effective design that does nothing less than compliment the genious of designer John Browning.
This recent bird season I slipped down a short muddy embankment with the action open, and as luck would have it I discovered large amounts of mud and grass found their way in when I picked it up. I simply washed it out with a canteen and went on to get my limit that day, with not one foul up!

In total, I own about 8 or so shotguns, some still works in progerss, while others are fine complete shooters. And also a couple of newer "home defence" types. But out of them all, the norinco 1887 is still my beloved favorite. Because its just so foolproof, rugged, good looking, and has a perfect length for just shootin' around, be it birds or tin cans. :).  Mind you it does take a little finishing out of the box, but for the price its more than worth it. In overall enjoyment, and compared to the costs of originals.

So if is nostalgic cowboy guns, or just fine american winchesters that fits your bill, I can tell you the norinco 1887 is a big winner in my book!

Those are some really cool looking shotguns guys!

Collector Winchesters are more of my bag though.

Top: Winchester model 1887 Lever action, 10 gauge, 32" Full choke. Mfg ~1893

This one I put a great deal of restoration work into. right now its around 90% complete. Minus case colering and blueing.  Here is what it looked like when I bought it.  http://gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=55121113

Middle: Winchester model 1897,  12 gauge,  30" Full choke. Mfg~1920

This one retains almost 95%+ of its original blueing, and the bore is still bright and shiney. Collector value of these have skyrocketed recently, and in this prestine condition it could bring from around $1200 - $1350 at auction.

Bottom: IAC/Norinco moldel 87L. 12 gauge, 20" Cyl. Bore Mfg-2006

This one is not a collectors item at all, but a modern made reproduction of the winchester 1887. Built for modern smokeless shells, its geared toward modern day cowboy shooters. Say what you will about Norinco/China, but after a little action reworking, this thing is as smoth and as solid as a shotgun could be. The original winchester 1887s were all for blackpowder   shells, and this brand new replica lets you shoot off the shelf ammo, and  comes in at about half the price of an original. Around $550 aint too bad if its your kind of gun!

I also Have another Winchester model 1887 in 12 gauge but its only maybe 70% restored at this point. (Parts are RARE and expensive!) :)

Ive rebiult dozens of these things, and alomost every time at least one of the bearings gets lost.

McMaster-Carr has bearings, any size, and alloy.  2mm is what you will be looking for if I remember correctly.. http://www.mcmaster.com/param/asp/psear ... ;121=10274

6 bucks for a hundred isnt bad.

Ace sells O-rings.

Metric or standard,  they have the right size you need. What I used to do is just take the whole barrel assembly and valve with me, and keep trying out diferent ones untill I found find a size that sits tightly in the groove, and fits snuggly when the valve was shoved into the chamber. I coulnt ever remember the number, so Id usually buy five or six at a time.

The last one I rebuilt, I used the green HNBR air conditioning O-rings, and it has never leaked once. That was nearly a year ago, and the last time I used it  was nearly six months ago. Its probably still holding the gas I last filed it with, wherever the thing is.
