General Airsoft Discussion / Re: Your first gun
« on: July 15, 2012, 01:04:45 AM »
My first gun was a $140 JG MK36C. My friend got me hooked on airsoft about 5-6 years back and he had a G36c himself which i always used as we were playing in his backyard, which led me to eventually buy one a few months later. I knew little of the do's and don't's of airsoft and so proceeded to reuse old bb's and do other... very... bad... things... to it, which most of you would probably shriek in horror if you watched. Eventually my aeg died from extreme misuse then gave it to a buddy as my family was moving and i had no money to fix it. As far as i know, he turned it into a pretty cool looking prop for school. haha (Never did find out what went wrong, all i knew it was something in the gearbox)

4-5 years later i decided to get back into airsoft and bought the exact same rifle but now only costing $115. Did some Internal and external upgrades and works like a charm. It has never jammed up in almost a year. And just blew one fuse so far. I continued to buy a full metal 1911 and a decent P90 which both manufacturer names escape me as of this moment and i am to lazy to look them up. (sorry) Last but not least, my latest addition is a Javelin M4A1 which i received in one of the evike box of awesomeness.

Fear not, i have learned much, and shall continue to learn much more. AEG's shall never be mishandled in my hands again. hehe

AEG's / Re: Fuse
« on: July 07, 2012, 10:10:22 AM »
The AEG sounded just fine, i've never had a problem with it in over 6-7 months. And yeah, it pretty much just blew right in the middle of firing. And nope, the fuse was in one piece, just burned out.

My guess so far has been that i perhaps fired to quick in semi (rotation not fully done before pressing trigger again) then switching selector switch and firing again in full auto. That's when it blew. It held for about 6-7 months and i double checked the wiring and the gearbox and couldn't find any issues when i cam home that needed to be addressed. But you are right, probably should get it checked out by a tech.

Thank you for the quick response!

AEG's / Fuse

Hey guys!

Past Saturday my fuse burned out which runs 20/30 amp. The other day i bought a small packet of 5, 25 amp fuses from auto zone for $4 and I'm wondering will they be okay or might they potentially cause problems with my wiring/gearbox?

General Airsoft Discussion / Re: Transporting Airsoft Replicas
« on: July 06, 2012, 11:54:52 PM »
The problem isn't taking them around your property or out of the car/truck to your house etc. Its mainly transporting/carrying them in public for strangers to see like tantrick pointed out; For example, only one of my neighbors knows that i airsoft so if i were to randomly walk around with my g36c which by the way no longer has a orange tip on it, there would be some questionable looks. I try to put myself into some strangers shoes and think about looking at some random person walking around with a unconcealed real looking weapon. Considering that we don't just use pistols but also rifles. Me personally, that might scare me just a bit. Now putting myself into the shoes of an officer of the law, I would probably be even more afraid due to the fact that it would be my duty to approach that specific person and check out whats going on. That is exactly why states like California want to put laws in place to potentially ruin airsoft for us. Its all about being safe. I don't ever want to read an article about someone from our community being hurt for not being smart enough. Thank you for reminding us that it is important to be smart about what we do!

P.S. I use barrel sleeves at any given time my rifles are not in use, in addition to that i have orange caps that are placed over and inside the barrel.

Troubleshooting / Re: JG G36 Flash Removal (Assistance Needed)
« on: July 06, 2012, 11:37:30 PM »
I own a JG MK36C - My issue was that the screw was not going to come out just because there isn't really any tool out there to take it out, at least none that i could find. What i ended up doing is i got a friend who had a power tool saw and we just cut it from the back to the front right through where the hex screw is. Bending it off was the easy part.. In some cases there really isn't any other way than to mutilate the crap out of the orange flash hider in order to replace it with a mock silencer or a new flash hider.

Best of luck bud

Airsoft Items FOR SALE / 3 Hi-Caps for G36 models for sale
« on: June 13, 2012, 01:53:49 PM »
Hey guys!

Update August 8 2012 - Magazines are still for sale
I've been ordering some more mid-caps for my MK36c which leaves me with two options on what to do with the 3 hi-caps i own. Option one either throw them out or option two, sell them.
If anyone would like them I am willing to sell all three together for $18. All three of them are in working order. Only on one of the mags the plastic clip-on on the side is broken, but anyone owning a g36 knows clip-ons are on both sides so its not too big of a deal, and as i said; its still in working condition. If you are interested I'll be going out to fightertown on the 13th and 14th this month (June). If you are interested in purchasing them PM me and i will get back to you asap.

Awesome games this evening, some people need watch what their doing and call their damn hits. For all that didn't go tonight, the lights went completely out and that is how we played majority of the night. It also caused some players even more not to call their hits.
Still had fun though, Henry, these sort of games should be done on a regular bases, they were a hell of a lot more fun then with lights. haha
