Moved to it's own thread.

The gear and you thread is for discussion of how to fine tune your kit.

Ok, Thanks GANEF. In a related note, can you recall who makes that MBITR pouch that allows you to pull the radio forward to gain access to the controls?

Not 100% this belongs in this thread but I don't think it needs its own. For those who want a very, very realistic radio setup with a just plain powerful radio.. Dragon Red airsoft of HK custom makes these.. They are AN/PRC 148 Replicas with the following features:
Quote
Features:
Frequency: 400-470MHZ
Channels: 99
chable battery compartment design just as real ones.
Comes with rechargable lipo batteries(4V,2000MAH), last 2-3 days!!
wall mount charger(110V-240V)
Ouput power: 5W
Frequence reprogrammable
Support Morse code
Battery low alert
Support CTCSS
Software upgradable
Support image transfer in the future by sofware upgrade
Range is about 20KM
The radio box was made of aluminum, very durable
Comes with built-in microphone and speaker
Comes with whip antenna
Fully functional buttons
Adjustable frequence stepping(12.5KHZ/25KHZ)
Military U-283 headset pannel

Here are some pics. The newest gen (4th) should be coming out soon. My biggest 'like' about these is that you can use those U-329 connectors that come with a lot of issue Peltor/MSA kits.  ;)  Making those $250 PTT's useful.

A note, the guy who makes them has had some customers have complaints that their real headsets were not transmitting sound. This was found to be an issue because some mics are using an electrodynamic microphone, however he includes a free Electret condenser microphone that takes just a few seconds to solder on.

Once I sell some stuff I plan on ordering the 4th gen and doing a writeup. They are a worthy radio from what I have read. For a fraction of the cost of a real MBITR, you get a pretty damn good replica.

Link to buy: http://dragonredairsoft.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=26&products_id=49

Cost: $300-370

.

And the whip antenna they sell for $28, I believe it should be SMC like the real deal.

And for reference, this is a U-283/U panel connector. It's what the Thales AN/PRC 148/152 radios use.

Been cruising and not too many people have really posted pics of helmet setups...

So post yours, whether its main purpose is protecting your dome from Lead or plastic... and I guess if its cool enough, you can post a pic of a hat.

By the way, if anyone has any experience with any of the IBH replicas, let me know.

now that i think about it, it would be nice to watch someone get busted for not calling hits

Cough firing line cough?

That would be the funniest thing to watch!

"Hey he cheated!"
(guys quick-rope in through ceiling and shoot the person with assorted 600FPS GBBR's)  =D>

Or just don't be a bitch by calling other peoples hits. Let an organizer know.

Yes, lets have a firing line for that, how civilized...

This is the 2nd of my Tanaka long guns and I decided to part with this one because i simply don't need a second. This gun can do some serious damage even operating between 400 and 600 fps. I have gone through hundreds of hours of T&E with this platform to develop the 'perfect' system. It's still airsoft so sometimes stuff doesn't work but when using the best quality bb's (SGM or Goldenball) you are going to have no problem hitting people out to 300ft and passed. The gun uses a QD type remote High Pressure Air system that is reliable and easy to use. For whoever buys this gun, I will gladly show you the ins and outs of using, maintaining and adjusting it.

Same gun as in the Pics, except it's had the stock painted tan.

KWA

designed by a Japanese guy

So yeah, A gun still made by the Taiwanese.

EDIT: I don't have anything against TW made guns, I love my KSC USP. It's just way overpriced for what it is.

It is also a known fact that GGBRs are much cheaper to manufacture than AEGs.

Also KWA has entered the market and will have their entry in by September!

Japanese Made GBBRs FTW!

Brah,

You are straight up confusin' me now.. KWA? OR KSC? KWA makes their own AEG's in Taiwan then imports them as 'US' Guns. KSC makes all their pistol stuff for the most part, some in Taiwain, some in Japan. It may be designed in Japan..But probably made in Taiwan..

For the most part you can purchase GBBR's for around the same price as most popular AEG's. GBBR's are coming out of their infant stages right now and are becoming more and more popular as the months go by. They definitely take some patience to deal with and being some what mechanically inclined will help you tremendously.

In the next year you'll probably start seeing more popular manufactures coming out with their versions of GBBR's. Right now the most popular manufactures are Western Arms, WE-Tech, KJW, AGM (No longer in business), VFC. Rumor has it that Classic Army is working on one now. :D

Yeah,

CA tends to take a great idea and fuck it up by doing a piss poor job.

My biggest complaint with the GBBR's is cooldown on full auto, and the mag capacity. Regular airsoft games are just not meant for 30rnd mags.Yes, you can get by with them but they limit you when some kid with an AEG is raining down on you with a set of hi caps.

When the manufacturers find a better way of pressurizing and storing gas most of the issues will be eleviated, until then..they exist..

I have said it a million times but if the manufactures put the gas inside of the gun, instead of the mags..they would really be helping themselves and airsofters out. The mags would be cheaper too.

With regards to the WE 4168, it's a sick gun and I have mostly heard good stuff, more so with people using the co2 mags. Just watch out though, the extra forces with the co2 cause a lot of things to wear away quicker.

looks good andrew, those 20% discounts are life-savers arent they?

what size/length barrel did you order?

PDI 375mm 6.01. I use bioval .27 BBBMAX's so the jamming is not an issue. The 110mm PDI 6.01 in my WE pistol can send out the Biovals to around 170ft.

I know the PDI is too long, but I am going to cut it down. When I say cut it down, I mean I am going to have it done in a clear environment where they modify turbine engine parts used in various helicopters. Not too fond of fucking up $120 barrels.

That, Or I may just toss a Surefire can over the end and call it a day.
