Troubleshooting / gears locking up
« on: July 16, 2005, 04:57:40 PM »
My gears have been locking up on my ak lately.  It's upgraded to 400 fps and after the gears would stop working I would disassemble the gun but leave the gearbox intact and I could stick a screwdriver into the gears and make them spin.  So I figured my motor was the problem.  New torque up motor and works good on simi auto but after a few mags on full it will lock up.  I know you all will say it's shiming, but I have messed with the shimming quite a bit.  So any other Ideas, or mabey a good shimming guide?

Troubleshooting / M9, gas gun just spits out the bb...
« on: June 18, 2005, 10:43:34 PM »
I've loaded the clip to the brim, and filled up the gas until it sprays back. I fire, and the bb rolls down the barrel. Then, when i take out the clip, 3-4 bb's fall out loose after it. If anyone can help me or direct where the problem is maybe, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

If you play within the city limits, it's illegal. Discharging a firearm inside the city limits in Arizona is against the law, and in many cases that includes BB guns or airsoft guns. If you contact the police in Phoenix, they will tell you you can't play airsoft inside the city limits because it's illegal. If you plan to play outside the city limits, get permision and contact the law enforcement agency that has jurisdiction in the area. If you have permission to play on private land, then you should be okay. Yes, not every officer will know, but at least somebody will.

Yeah, they aren't too bad, but my experience with them is that it takes a little bit of filing so it fits right, but im not sure if its like that with all metal bodies. Each one has its pros and cons

I've got the G&P one. I ordered a Hurricane body from Airsoft Shop overseas and they sent me a G&P one instead. I have to wait almost a month, so i wasn't going to send it back and then wait for another. The G&P is nice, it's a little darker than the Marui plastic body, but has a better finish. The fit in the mag well is tight, I had to file it down a bit to get the G&P mags in, but the Marui standards fit good. It does have a quick takdown feature, just pop out the front pin, and slide the upper receiver and barrel forward, and you can instantly get to the barrel. I like it, but I wish i cauld have had the dust-cover pop-down feature, which I think the Hurricane has.

I read somewhere that a former Gulf War General said that technically, it was not a violation of the Geneva Convention nor did the Marine violate any war crimes since the enemy was a combatant, and had not been captured. If the enemy had been captured, then it would have been a violation.

Anyone know what that soldier was looking through about 1:25 into the clip? He's sitting on the ground looking through what looks to be a giant camera

Surefire -

Broke the lens to my combatlight by dropping the bezel on concrete. Emailed Surefire, told them that it was broken, and all they asked was for my mailing address. Package came a few days later.

My brother just ordered that vest today from Airsoft Atlanta, should get here probably late this or early next week. It doesn't look too bad nor looks like it's made of shoddy material, but you can never tell from pictures.

Yes, true, it wasn't the ideal outcome. In an ideal situation, the guy would have been put down with a nonlethal weapon, cuffed, and everyone would leave alive. But, the threat was neutralized, the good guys and hostage get to go home. We can't jump to conclusions just by seeing the ending, a very small part, of the conflict.

Law enforment officers are trained to shoot if a gun is pointed at them. The suspect rounded the corner while the gun was pointed in the direction of the SWAT team. Once the gun was pointed at the SWAT officer, he fired at the suspect. The only part of the officer's that was protected was the chest, but the arms, legs, and head (as far as i can tell, they only had gas masks on) were unprotected, and thus a shotgun fired at that range could have caused serious injury.
