It's not a question of the guns, the guns are the real thing.
It's a question of the conversion and the rounds.
As well as the $$$.

I would much rather get my hands on some MILES gear. That would be fun.

The only A-Team episode I can remember (loser alert) where they fire full-auto is the one where they destroy that guy's bar by shooting it up right in front of him.
I'm pretty sure they went fully automatic that time.

We need to start calling ourselves the AA-Team.

I'll get a G-Series van we can trick out and roll up to Restore Order in.

Think about it...
Jason can fill the role of Hannibal, Mikey's obviously Face, John is our resident BA (with Nick as understudy), and Kyle's...Murdock?

Plus, the A-Team used them exclusively and that's about all anyone should have to say about a rifle...

Dang right!

I'm going to wear a "Members Only" jacket and leather gloves for the next game. And carry a cigar, all the time.

They used Mini-14's, but 2 were modified for full-auto.

I'm also curious as to how you know that Marui made an entirely new gearbox?  It is my understanding that they're using the V.3 in the Sig.  I think they know that it is a superior design, so it doesn't seem to make sense that they'd start over (much less bother with the V.2 anymore)

I think I follow you with what you're saying.

Half-Life is going the right route with shaders, but the lighting in Doom 3 is absolutely incredible.

I'm unfamiliar with the term "ray-casting"
I think you might mean raytracing, which isn't used in PC games because it doesn't work in real-time.  HL2 is brilliant because it is using shaders to replace many of the environmental textures and maps. (Not level maps, texture maps.) This is standard practice in 3d graphics work.  The modeling for HL2 was done in Softimage (probably XSI) which is a high-end 3D modeling and animation package.  Textures were probably real photos that got Photoshopped.

Yeah, I agree with Paco.  The only thing Doom 3 has over HL2 is the graphics, and the only reason it looks so dang good is because Carmack himself coded the lighting.
HL2 on the other hand appears to have a legitimate plot as well as characters, not to mention the interactive environments and physics.

Yeah. Sign me up.
(Hopefully HL2 is the reason Team Fortress 2 went AWOL in '98)

Alas, I was but a foolish youth then.

It's shameful what he did to that barrel.

If you want a BAR, you'd have better luck finding a replica and stuffing a Marui gearbox in.

Gas Powered Guns /

Yeah, I have the Marushin Ruger.

It's basically bulletproof.
I doubt KJW exactly went back to the drawing board on this one, so it's probably almost identical to the Marushin. (Seeing as the Marushin was released, became very popular overseas, and then KJW releases one...)

400+ fps is not unreasonable out of this gun, but don't expect it past the first 4 shots.  And don't expect to get real efficient gas use.  The gas tank is small and it uses a LOT of gas.  Essentially the design of the Marushin has the barrel being pulled back to grab the BB from the magazine, where it mates with a small piece of barrel built into the mag just forward of the valve.  Gas goes straight from the mag through the barrel to shoot the BB.  Brutally effective, simple, and inefficient.

The other thing is that while you will have high velocities, a 5 inch barrel equates to a lot of flyers.  Accuracy is great, when you're sitting down calmly plinking.  Anything that affects gas performance really affects this gun. Hop up is pretty good, but keep it adjusted well.

And the final thing is that this is not a very good combat sidearm.  The trigger pull is just too long to get of successive shots fast enough.

That all said, I love mine.
