Hopefully this guy gets a visit to one of Sheriff Arpaio's jails. Inhumane conditions in there, it'd serve that dude some good.

Oh and Raven1... AWESOME AVATAR.  I LOOOVE Nissan, and despise Hondas.  Get this, if Nismo is the aftermarket racing parts supplier for Nissan, what is the name for Honda's?

Nismo = NISsan MOtorsports
HOMO = HOnda MOtorsports

Actually, Honda's aftermarket parts line is Spoon.

Alright, but what lenght was it? I was looking around at depot 53 and they have two different lengths for an m4 barrel. Is it a typo, or are there different lengths depending on the company?

I would assume 363mm for an M4. Some places claim a 300mm M4 barrel, but that is actually the length of the M733 barrel. Likewise, sometimes you will see 407 or 509mm, those are for the MC51 and M16A1, respectively.

Perfectly correct. They are washers, but for their purposes in airsoft we call them shims. :)

And perfect gear spacing is essential to long-lasting gearboxes.

get it shimmed by an airsmith(Jeremiah is relly good)

I concur. Jeremiah is awesome from everything I hear, and it is from people who run their weapons hard who have no reason to BS me on the subject.

If you were down in Tucson, I'd recommend Pryde.

Reason being, I ruined a brand new out of the box Systema replacement gearbox only for the simple reason I did not follow their advice and have it installed by an experienced airsoft technician (airsmith, in my vocabulary...) because from what I have read, they all require re-shimming to be absolutely proper. Pryde resurrected said dead gearbox for me, and it is what is currently running my formerly-cursed CA M15A4.

Shimming is a process of putting little metal spacers on the various ball bearings in the gearbox to make sure that 1) the gears don't float around and bump into each other (taking teeth off the gears in the process...) and 2) to make sure they are centered on the piston so they don't strip it out. This is why it requires an airsmith. The extra 40 or so bucks you spend to have an airsmith spend a few minutes of their time adjusting it to be perfectly right, is more than worth it, so you don't ruin a 200-dollar gearbox 50 rounds in to using it.

To be honest, from having been through a few gearboxes, a lot of small things can add up and break an otherwise great gearbox.

Get a Systema replacement gearbox, **GET IT SHIMMED BY AN AIRSMITH**, and not worry about that problem happening again.

Thats good everyone had fun. And im glad nobody got hurt when that gas can blew. I feel bad however for the owner of the M249 that had the box mag and battery shredded

That'd be me

New boxmag is on the way already from evike.com, 129 bucks. Got two just in case that crap happens again.

I didn't come back to this sport to not spend money. I'm more glad no one got hurt by that can going off, than I am pissed about my boxmag. I'd much rather break 100 boxmags than see anyone get hurt.

Local Games Listing/RSVP / Operation Terror Shade, Oct 28th
« on: June 02, 2006, 11:05:18 PM »
Please note, I am not continuing the Innoculation series this year. It's time for something new and exciting, and in that spirit I give you Operation Terror Shade.

Team OPFOR, a part of TAC, is proud to present Operation: Terror Shade!

WHAT: Operation Terror Shade
WHEN: Saturday, October 28th 2006 from 1pm to 1am
WHERE: Sudden Impact, Marana AZ
WHO: YOU!

A 12-hour day-to-night operation, with moving bases, mobile respawning, and a brand-new style of gameplay that is now 4 months in the making. The main point is to keep the gaming fast-paced, intense, and ongoing. The game will start in the afternoon, and rage right on into the night.

Bomb disarmament, GPS Tracking, and more will be part of this operation (objectives may vary depending on which team you're on).

Bonus rounds: Compete in the single-elimination pistol ladder for a chance to win prizes, participate in the raffle to win some more equipment, or throw your hat in the ring for the $10 buy-in, winner-takes-all AEG shootout.

Please keep your eyes on this spot for updates as they happen. As we get into August I'll begin explaining the new gameplay style so we can all be clear on the parameters.

(Are we allowed to post sponsors of a game? Or would that violate some rules?)

Thanks to red36johnson for organizing the list a bit!

I'm Stoked for this one but I wasn't able to get my main up as fast as i would have liked. (originally thought the game was on the 18th for some reason.) I do have a backup weapon but anyone who has seen it knows how it is possibly the worst weapon to have in a firefight. So i'm just asking if anyone is bringing any spare weapons and if so, can I borrow one? I don't know how much battery life is left on my backup and i haven't been able to charge it since i misplaced the large to small connector. Thanks again ahead of time and if worst comes to worst.. I'll have my camera in hand.

thanks again,
Boba

I got a weapon I could let you borrow.

Actually Paintball Headquarters carries ICS, Tokyo Marui, and Classic Army guns.

ICS AK74M: $300
Tokyo Marui M4: $300

You can't beat those prices even online with shipping.

Also they have Batteries (both 8.4 and 9.6V), Pistons, and soon gears, tightbore barrels, and all sorts of nifty parts.

We got tired of waiting for Jungletoy to bring in quality stuff, so we have started a relationship with Paintball Headquarters to get what we need. They are unafraid to do special orders and the owner is VERY interested in seeing airsoft grow as a sport.

When you're aiming to get a gun that's unique, get ready for many downfalls. Same with external parts, sometimes internal, and other stuff.

Of course, if one gets an L85A2, it comes pre-upgraded and from what I have read they are tough as snot.

Quote
You won't be able to switch mags with many people, which is VITAL at games like Lion Claws.

The L85A2 takes regular M4 mags.

Quote
What you could do is get an AR and customize it, like Pauls and Jeremiahs. A few of Rons, too, I believe.

Still wouldn't look unique.. all I see out there are the same M4 over and over again, with different sights on them. Yawn.

G36s are also becoming more popular, they are made with the version 3 gearbox so they are good to go right out of the box, unless you upgrade, and then with any AEG upgrading = more maintenance, higher incidence of breakdowns, etc..

If you silence the receiver portion (using any of a variety of methods...) then an actual foam-packed silencer will take what little remains of the gun's report away.

Honestly I don't think you'll have issues running a 100 instead of a 120, but if you want to hit 360 with the bore-up kit, you'll need a 110.

I'm thinking about getting a M16 VN and having redwolf customize it to 450 fps, plus 6.03 tightbore and use that as a sniper. Since the aeg limit is 400 i'll have to use semi only correct?

As I understand it, the weapon can only have a semi-auto mode, as in you have to make it physically impossible to flip over to full auto.

Ask Gantaliano Hoff, I was sailing BBs right past his head from 150ft with one at the pistol game in Florence. I love mine.
