About the rule when 13 or older can come with a parent playing, does that apply to all your games or only the BBQ ones?
Thanks anyway.

Reviews / JG G36K with C rail
« on: June 22, 2009, 02:28:31 AM »
Someone else posted a review about the same gun and I don’t know of there is a rule on that.

JG G36K with C iron sights

Overview:
   -ABS body
   -Folding skeleton stock
   - Metal parts: Bottom rail, flash hider, trigger, iron sights, selector switch, stock button, pins, front sling mount, screws
   -357mm length barrel
-Ambidextrous mag release, selector switch, and charging/cocking handle
   -Rubber pad at stock

I think I have a pretty good view of this gun, having owned it for about a month now.
This is my first AEG, so my expectations are not the highest.

Externals:
The ABS body is shiny, especially when you get body oils in it. It has no creeks besides when there is no battery in the handguard. There are no trades but this makes it so you can engrave the real H&K ones. The sights have defects in them, since its pot metal. The bottom rail is suprisingly high quality. You can see the machining lines if you put it under light, and engraved in the rail are the letter “B” and the corresponding odd number. The front sling mount was wobbly, even with the screws fuly tightened. You can fix it with some electrical tape since it is screwed in with the rail. The selector switch markings are more of a brownish color, rather than red. Weight is balanced around the magwell, but I prefer a rear-heavy gun so I will probably get the KV stock and a large battery. The only thing that I fear will break is the cocking handle, good think I didn't get into the habit of racking it(yet, haha)

Performance.
I don’t really know how to judge accuracy, or better yet, precision. I get around 1-foot groupings at a 100 feet with everything stock.(Is this bad or good?)  I suppose that should improve with a new bucking and nub. Range is around 170-180 feet. I can hit a man-sized target 7/10 times in that range(with the hop up adjusted properly). FPS was chrono’ed at 380 with .2s according to Airsoft GI. ROF is average but I have no means of measuring it. I did have to trim off some of the nub, since it had defects.

Ease of use:
I think this is a really easy gun to use. Changing batteries takes about 3-4 times getting used to it though, after that it’s a breeze. The stock has a nice rubber and has enough area to grip on your shoulder area firmly(unlike my friend’s ak). The handguard is really comfortable. It slants down at the sides for a firm grip. Getting to the internals is really easy(compared to the ak). It took me a 30 secs getting to the hop up. Unscrew a few more screws and you can slide out the gearbox. There is lots of space in the reciever(unlike my friend’s ak, again) for heavier gauge wiring, etc. The only thing that was not so easy was winding the high cap, since it doesn’t have the allen screw at the side, you have to use the bottom wheel.

Im pretty happy with the gun. I have yet to crack open the gearbox. The latest version came with metal bushings. The JG G36C gearbox is also under Airsoft GI’s reinforce gearbox list. Are they right about this?

Anyway thanks for reading. Gonna get pictures in when I find a new memory card reader. :D

My name is Nathaniel. I got my first springer when I lived in the Philippines 4 years ago. I got my first AEG after my friends and I had a skirmish when we went camping.
