A courtesy-reply or something would have been nice, rather than just ignoring me. All I said was that I was also interested in the drum mag, not sure how that's such a taboo'd-mixing-of-packages...  ::)

Meanwhile, I'm still interested. Sending another PM.

I just bought 10,000 .25's  :'(  :'(  :'(      but I plan on using it more as a support machine gun or automatic dmr...

I guess I'll take a look at the hopup system again. Might look into purchasing a new system too.

As far as conditions I was shooting in, it was 10-20 yards in my backyard so not much distance AT all, it must be a hopup issue...

BTW how is the nub supposed to go in its hole? I have it seated so the cylinder is perpendicular to the barrel.

Here's info on my gun. http://www.airsoftmegastore.com/JG_Airsoft_Full_Metal_Gearbox_AK_SVD_Sniper_AEG_p/jg-0511mg.htm

Obviously it's not nearly as good as advertised  :-\  and the most I plan on having it become right now is a decently-long-range support machine gun.

OK well I'm just surprised that a 400 fps full auto tightbore extended barrel gun with .25's could possibly be less accurate than a 350 fps shorter barrel .20

If it's in the high fps range, which spring sniper rifles usually are, I'd suggest using heavier bb's. You'll get better results.

Should have included in description, it's a JG Dragunov SVD AEG 410 FPS (claimed) full auto.

Troubleshooting / JG Dragunov precision issues...
« on: June 04, 2012, 04:25:19 PM »
So I finally got around to putting a Madbull 650mm tightbore barrel in my Dragunov. Before the barrel change, I was having a problem with a lack of precision- every few bbs one or a couple would shoot off to the side, and pretty far off. I thought it was a problem with the bucking or something, so I figured I'd fix it along with the barrel upgrade.

When I took apart the hop-up system everything was perfectly clean and the bucking was perfect - I have only used this gun on one or two outings so that makes sense.

I put everything back together and there's still a precision problem! I changed from the .2's I was shooting to .25's and it improved a little bit, but it shoots SO MUCH less precisely than my JG Sig552 which has less FPS and a not-tight-bore barrel of about half that length.

This gun is supposed to be a support/sniping weapon, not a cqb gun!!!

Is there anything else that could cause a lack of precision besides barrel/hop up system? Any ideas..?  :'(

The gun's half put-together so I want to solve any issues before I finish.

Thanks,
Keith

There was a heli evac on the road home causing the road to be locked down for a while, i hope all of you got home safe!

Hope there weren't airsofters involved, and prayers to those involved... From what we drove by, it looked pretty bad. Definitely will be on the news tomorrow.

Had an awesome time tonight!
