General Airsoft Game Discussion / Rhodesian Revolt 2
« on: May 29, 2013, 08:31:46 PM »
It's back and even bigger this year. The location will be a few hours further from the last one but trust me the drive will be totally worth it. The guys have put a lot of work into building up the field so the price it a little more. As of now all teams other than the rebels are full. Being a rebel is a blast since you dont have to do silly drills and the people who play on that team bring so much entertainment and chaos to the game.

estimating around 150-250 people this year

Hope to see some of you guys out there!

Accessories & Gear / Re: SWAT loadout help.
« on: October 12, 2012, 05:10:04 PM »
I rock a full black SWAT outfit. I really like it. I've not tried it out here in AZ but back in Utah i never got to hot and it actually worked well in snowy and green environments so long as i stuck to the shadows and didn't move much, but for the distance airsoft is played at unless your a pro sniper, camouflage is pointless, any slight movement will give you away. I do like having the SWAT loadout for indoor CQB games though :)

For my loadout i use a: (top to bottom)
- Mich 2000 helmet
- Baklava
- Voodoo tactical combat shirt
- Crossdraw vest with combat belt
- Hydration pack
- Hard knuckle half gloves
- Drop leg holster
- Combat knife
- Dump pouch
- Gas mask (optional) :P
- Emerson direct action pants
- Boots

I really like the all black look, I know alot of new guys start with the all black look but i tried to make mine more legit lol here are some pics for more visual aid to help you aim for something you like

Decided to buy Arma 2 and give DayZ a try.. pretty fun but deff need to play with a squad.. i got ambused by like 5 guys while i was scavenging for loot. Scared the crap outta me but thankfully they were nice enough to give me a nice gun and let me live lol. I use DayZ Commander to play and i think my username is Ruffles.

General Airsoft Game Discussion / The Rhodesian Revolt

Hey guys. This was a really big event in Utah they did last year, but got interrupted thanks to a drunk hillbilly threatening to shoot us because we were on "his property". We weren't trespassing or doing anything illegal, Its a long story.. Anyhow, this game is the reboot to the one they originally started, however this one is being held at a different AO. Its at Green River which is about a 9-11 hour drive depending on what route you take. Dont worry, this field isn't private property and the local authorities like seeing us out there using the place for something good.  The cost for registration is only 20 bucks.. Not bad compared to some major events costing near 200 bucks.

This is going to be an epic game at a sweet AO (I love this field in Green River) For all the details here is the site for the event http://rhodesianrevolt.com/index.php

Hope some of you can make it. The people at WeaponBlender hosting this did an awesome job last year and the props they have make it all that much better. The drive out there will be worth it i promise.

General Airsoft Game Discussion / Re: Support Class
« on: July 11, 2012, 09:12:27 PM »
The M27 IAR would be cool but with the extended full metal quad rail that sucker will be almost as heavy :P even with my 416 quad rail that thing is heavy after awhile. Besides, as much as i love the look of the M27 I don't believe in having a V2 gearbox in a gun that's for a support role. I would have to get the KWA 2GX gearbox and still do some upgrading.. The gearbox for the 249's are bricks. Ill destroy my battery long before the gearbox even thinks about breaking. The only downer is the box mags. ones for M4's and 249's are garbage, but I've actually had better luck with the 249's box mag after some modding but even then bb's like to sometimes jam with the faster motor in it. Good thing with the 249 is it accepts both box and standard M4 mag's I can use my mids for my 416 and hand those to people running low, but they will be painted so they are easily identified  :) As for thunder B's i plan on having at least 4 on me. Man do i love thunder-b's!

You make some good points there Chinole. As far as having the advantage of crazy firepower, your not all that effective if the team doesn't work with you. Ive started to try and avoid just walking about just hosing a bush that someone is behind until their hand pops up.. As fun as it is, i feel like its kinda cheap and makes the game no fun for others.

I've honestly never seen people scramble for ammo during a game, even when there is an ammo restriction, people are pretty much well stocked up with extra ammo with their speed loaders. I think the idea is more practical than the actual role unfortunately  :-\

I tried rolling this idea around back in Utah but never really got serious about it and figured I'd get some input here to see what you all think.

I usually like to roll around with my 416, 8 mids and sometimes a side arm, but i started using my m249 and have fallen in love with it again. I have to start a new loadout from scratch since i usually rocked all black or almost all black. I'm a dead man if i do that here. I was thinking about doing something like this that is already built and because it looks cool.
http://weaponblender.com/Loadouts/Complete-loadout-Support-class-p5410.html
Its not the loadout i'm curious about but actually playing the role as a true support gunner.

I'd like to roll with a squad and provide plenty of cover fire, help break the barrier and get the team moved up, stay back/move up to create choke points or lone wolf it if need be. What i really need to find is an effective way of providing ammo for people if needed. Say if anyone ever does ammo restricted games. Some ideas were carry lots of speed loaders painted bright orange so i can toss them to people low on ammo, carry little baggies of ammo for high caps to even carrying an auto winding speed loader. Besides resupplying people with ammo, I was wondering about any other ways to support people. Do any fields allow those, "spark-less" smoke bombs? Even if they do claim to be, "spark-less" I still don't believe that they are. I may get some more thunder-b kits to help clear out rooms and cause people to retreat.

I'd love to get some input so i can decide on how to do my new loadout and possibly rebuilding my m249, or sell it and start with a new one then make it into a beast.

AEG's / Re: Best p90 to buy?
« on: May 02, 2012, 01:41:11 AM »
IMO echo 1's are just rebranded guns with a higher price tag. CA's tend to have weak internals while having good bodies. Vise versa with TM's. I just ended up buying a KS P90 from evike. I did a few things to the gearbox and has held up well with a 11.1 lipo. The body has held up well also. Haven't had any issues with the hopup either. My only gripe about the P90 is the design more than the brand is the double trigger. But a way to solve that is taking the metal rod out and wrapping some tape around it to decrease trigger pull.  Oh and high cap magazines are garbage. Mids are the only way to go.

Introduce Yourself! / Hello all

Hey everyone, My name is Jake, in-game i go by Ruffles. Currently i still live in Utah but will be moving down to Gilbert sometime in the third week of May. Been playing airsoft for a long time now starting when i was young springing away in the back yard with friends. Now some years back i finally bought my first AEG and now have quite the collection of guns and gear.

Here in Utah i went for the all black swat outfit and was really the only one to do so looking pretty legit, but i dont think all back is a wise idea in Arizona during summer haha. Good thing i have other outfits as well.

I love working on my guns and seeing what i can do to my gearboxes to make them run smoother and more reliable. Im not afraid to open up my gearbox in the fields if there happens to be something wrong. There was an airsoft store just 30 minutes away from me (Weapon Blender) so i was always there looking to get stuff. Im a pretty handy tech and techs are always good to have around  :P

Anyways I figure i'd make the intro now to get to know some guys and find out where all the airsofting happens in Arizona, There is always weekly game here in Utah and im hoping to make it out often when im out in Arizona.
