TM M14
« on: September 09, 2006, 07:58:38 PM »
Is there any gearbox savy people in the Prescott area that would be willing to take a look at my M14?  I've tried upgrading it myself, and adjusting the motor height adjustment in 1/4 turns until it sounds right but the gearbox continues to lock up.  I basically put in a Guarder FTK and a Systema M120 (going to buy an SP 110 later to bring it down to a more sane FPS for the AZ sites).

I am willing to pay for parts and the time spent if someone will look at it.  Or just parts if someone is feeling really generous.

(I ask for the Prescott region because I cant exactly mail it to places as its in my gun case in my car and it shares the case with my ICS M4, so I plan on driving to deliver it and pick it up so it doesnt have to go through the mail system)

Sorry for the jumbled post = Its been a long week!

I don't know that an M120 would put you over the limits.

Nothing else to offer unfortunately.

Good luck.

Yeah just re read most of the rules (375 with .25's) I'll probably downgrade to get a little more ROF out of it since my M14 might get an E2 stock thrown on it and it may become a support weapon =)

Barring someone looking at it is there any reliable stores nearby to go to (google search turned up no stores nearby, but then again I didnt look hard)

I'll look into it, but I've heard many horror stories of Jungle Toy.  Can I really trust em with my M14?  I'm a little weary of this proposition as Jungle Toy doesnt have the greatest track record.

I don't know about Flagstaff as the guy JUST GOT HIRED, but, Paul at Scottsdale or Ron and Jeremiah at Phoenix are good to go.

Jungle Toy Arizona is run differently from the other Jungle Toys.

i had the same exact problem with my m-4 when i put a sytema 120 in it. tried everything incuding stonger batteries and torque gears, but when i replaced the motor, it fixed the problem completely... for now
you've put a lot of round through that motor, i wouldn't doubt that its torque has decreased, check and clean the contacts on your motor too

The problem is the gearbox is lockign up, as I cant even attempt to move the gears w/ the motor out.  I think i've figured out what the problem was.  IT has alot to do with the fact that some Guarder gear sets come with a small difference in size.  the TM pinion gear is smaller and doesnt always mesh correctly.  This can be seen by the fact that the pinion gear was worn more then normal :)
