Are any of these compatible
« on: October 06, 2006, 12:05:23 AM »
Are any of these products compatible with the star M249?

1-ANGS steel gears
2-Any form of m249 tightbore barrel
3-Any of the aftermarket grips/rangergrips
4-Any metal parts

Thanks for the help in advance.

I'm fairly sure that the STAR M249 runs a clone PGC gearbox, so, stuff intended for the CA249 should work insofar as internals. I believe it accepts AEG barrels, I know the CA249 does.

I have no idea what a ranger grip is, unfortunately. All I can think of is like, a ranger plate, but that goes on a magazine.

They've got metal externals made for it, I believe.

Thanks Vince.

This is what I meant by the Ranger grip. IDK if redwolf called it the wrong thing or what.

Ohh.

Does your SAW have a plastic pintle mount hole? If it does, that's not a good idea. That nut goes through the pintle mount. If you look at like, maybe the first or second page of the weapon photo thread, you can see where Ganef made one for the Bonesaw (azsarge's SAW).

yeah it's plastic, wouldn't it be fine though? because it's just a foregrip,
i wouldn't there would be too much stress put on it due to the guns light weight.

You could bang it on something, I dunno.

If you follow push/pull, it could stress it hard.

I'd just be like, real, real, real careful.

The ANGS gears would not be compatible because those parts are designed to work with the TOP gearbox version.  The STAR model is a copy of the Classic Army which is a copy of the PGC version which uses Tokyo Marui gearbox type internal parts.  The same goes for the barrel as well; you will want to use barrels designed for TM/CA AEGs, not TOP AEGs.
