I don't know whats up with these housing people, not only is it legal for you bear arms but airsoft was created (from what I have gatehered) becasue people were not allowed to use real firearms in thier country. I'll bet these same housing people allow paintball guns, and although you live where there is a neighborhood association or whatever, you ought to attend one of thier meetings and explain to them why they should allow airsoft guns and real guns for that matter. If they're afraid I'd like to remind you of a quote that Thomas Jefforson had (I saw harley posting it too I think), he said: "Those who sacrifice freedom for security deserve neither." (or something close to that)
It's our constitutional right and DUTY to preserve our freedoms. Don't be a jerk about it but make sure you tell them. It would also help if you are especially informed on the subject of the II Amendment. Now, Go talk some Sense into that liberal scum soldier!
