<br />I wasn't referring to the scenery.  But now that you mention it, seeing as you're from Buffalo, can you honestly tell me you miss the brutal winters there???  I certainly don't miss getting blasted with 3 to 4 feet of snow overnight, the whole state being shut down due to the roads being unpassable.  Fall in NY can't be beat.  The color changes are spectacular.  I don't miss being taxed to death, unfriendly gun laws, toll roads, oh and the 2 seasons, winter and construction.  I was paying over $3,000 a year on my house back there for school and property taxes.  My house here only costs me $900.  That's $2,100 in my pocket for other things.  There's more, but I'd rather forget about them.  Arizona has just as much to offer as NY and then some.  Mountains, desert, skiing, boating, 300+ days of sunshine a year.  I don't know about you but 300+ days of rain and overcast skys gets tiresome. [/rambling]

Buffalo has history...   the ol' rock pile watching AAA baseball, the waterfront with the battle ship.  war memorial stadium, broadway on shea.  boating lake erie and seeing the peace bridge, niagara falls and the maid of the mist. I could go on and on and on....

lets look at phoenix

the cardials and the mercury and lots of filbertos restuarants.  BLEH!  thank god the d-backs have a chance to give us a history!

Harley ever go to ssardela's? or Nino's? nino's has a shovel hanging on his wall saying its from buffalo and retired I laugh every time I see it.  You can't beat new york style food.

I for one enjoy the differences between here and other regions.  Sure there is no decent sports teams, and some people can seem snotty (at least here in NE Scottsdale), but I really love it.  I have been all around the Country.  CA, MA, CO, MN, OH, TX, ND, and literally every state in between.  I love AZ.  It bothers me to see you ranting and raving about how it differs from the East coast.  AZ is not NY, no kidding!  Alot of people that move here from the East dn't like it at first.  They either get used to it and enjoy it, or are miserable for the duration.  Which would you choose?  Sure we have a Lib Governor right now (and we all know how much I like Libs), but most of our way of life has been preserved simply by the fact that she dare not change it.  AZ is a tough state.  It has history.  Not the same history as you speak of, which seems to be dominated by sports and food, but real history nonetheless.  I do not desire to turn this into a battle of the States, but don't think that means I will let you get away with AZ-bashing!  Take it easy when you choose to shoot your mouth off, thats all.  No hard feelings here!  WELCOME TO AZ!

yea. I have to say after living 9 years in Mass., I like Boston the most. though Arizona is great for you older adults in terms of car maintenance and no need for shoveling snow. My parents lived on the east coast just about their entire lives and have decided that AZ is their favorite place. I kinda like AZ (no bugs!) but I miss going into Boston (minus the traffic) and having fun there. And of course the east coast is the place to be if you're a big sports fan! best rivalries in sports.

Note to all:  Do NOT, I repeat NOT drive in Boston if you're on a time schedule or new to the place!  I thought I was lost in the Bronx and Brooklyn...Boston was impossible to figure out.  Just very different mentalites and very different regions.  I wouldn't voluntarily leave the west, but it's because of the laws and the fact that I understand this culture.  Over there, I was a foreigner.

Something I've learned in my 42 years is that everyone is different and we need to understand that.  We don't necessarily have to agree with them or even like them, but we do need to respect each others opinions, simply because that's what they are, "OPINIONS", points of view, ways of thinking.  No one is right or wrong when it comes to opinions until you start to shove them down someones throat.  Then it's a whole new ball game!

PS I love Arizona!

F*** YOU Govenor hitler!
« Reply #37 on: August 18, 2003, 08:00:50 AM »
explain me this:

We all know we are otu of gas, we know *think we know* it is cuase of the pipeline from Tucson.

then why the F***!! is a pipeline that brings in 30% of our gas cuasing a 100% outage? how can one pipeline cause mobil;, chevron, texaco, arco and others to be wiped out of gas?

I got two conclusions

#1 - all gas is the same, just slapped with differt label..

#2 - suppliers are in colusion to rape us as their is no anti-gougign laws in AZ.

The bish nazi govenor also said we had plenty of gas and not to worry, in law of supply vs. demand - if we have plenty why the F*** have gas prices jumped so high? I saw regular unleaded for $2.29 and heard radio reports of it over $3 a gallon!!! FOR REGULAR!!!

I hate you govenor and I hate arizona... give me New York anyday.
