JG P90 not shooting
« on: June 23, 2010, 12:15:41 PM »
So a colleague of mine has a JG P90 that keeps jamming and not shooting.  I opened it up and tried to see what was wrong and found that the barrel and hop up keep getting jammed up with bb's.  I have a feeling that he went and messed up the gun himself because of the clips he used were supposed to be wound up and he keep shooting them.  I'm pretty sure he never bothered with that and screwed himself because of that. If you need some photos of the gun just tell me and I will post them up. If not, tell me what you think it could be.

try and backoff the hopup. if he has it too tight it will not pass BB's. run a cleaning rod down it. It could be dirty.

I've tried that, and I have cleaned the barrel as well but still no results.

I can take a look at it, or you could ask Ghillie. I know both of us work on guns, or at least try to.

The hop-up nub may have become oriented awkwardly, try disassembling the unit and reassembling it, who knows, you may even find something else that's wrong with it while disassembling it.

Or, it may be the quality of the bb's...  Make sure he's using some high-quality bb's.

Alright! I found out why the bb's kept on getting stuck in the barrel.

Apparently at the end of the barrel where the hop up is there is a rubber tubing that stops the bb's from entering the barrel and they get forced through by the firing mechanism.  the rubber tubing had a tear at the end and that's what caused it to keep jamming.  I pulled the piece out and now it doesn't jam now.

The only issue now is that the damaged tubing won't shoot for piss on single shot but does fine on full auto with a occasional double or triple bb shot.

If you or ghillieman still want to take a look at it I would appreciate it.
